Chris’s POV

I walked up to Jane’s house excited to take her on the surprise date I was planning. I nocked on the door and sent a text to Jane to tell her to get her cute but down here before I came up there my self.

The door opened and I was met with a huge wall like man with a scowl on his face. I suddenly backed away a few steps and looked at the man. He could easily pass for 6’6 but I was not exactly sure.

“who are you and what are you doing at my house” the large man stated

“um im here to see Jane is she here?”

“no she is over at Charlotte’s, now why would you want to see my daughter?”

my mouth fell open and I looked at the man again “but.. bu” I stuttered “you look nothing like her” I said

he just let out a deep throaty laugh “yea I get that a lot she looks like her mother, glad she does because I would be an ugly girl.” Laughing again

I found myself laughing with him there was just something about him that  made you just wanted to like him. “So I’m guessing you the amazingly, kind and charming young man that has got my daughter to stop drooling over Alex eh?”

I stared at him in amazement “she liked Alex” I said not believing it for one second he treated her like crap when ever I saw them together. He just looked at me like I was crazy. Then something dawned on him and his expression turned him laughing slightly “yea, she has been in love with that boy even before I could even remember”

I just stared with with disbelief there was no way! But if it was true, I was proud to say that I got the lovely Jane away from Alex. That boy never in a million years would deserve some one as amazing as her. Cole (Jane’s dad) and I talked for a while waiting for Jane to get home from Charlotte’s house.

Jane’s POV

I woke up from the ding of my phone. Rolling over I check and saw Chris’s name flash across the screen. Giggling from his ridiculous name I checked my message

Hey baby, get your cute little but down here before I have to come up and get you xx

Okay be there soon just at Char’s house so ill get ready here and be there soon.

I smiled and jumped out of our little blanket fort we ended up making after we watched the movie. I wrote the girls a note saying I will be back later but Chris calls.

I knew I would get crap from them later about how I was obsessed with him but oh well. I put on a blue and purple tribal print flowy shirt with white shorts and slipped on my blue toms to match my shirt. I did a light dusting of makeup and pulled my hair into a ponytail. Happy with my appearance I slipped out of Char’s room unnoticed. Well that’s what I thought until I bumped into a hard chest and fell onto my butt.

I glared up at Alex and he just started laughing. I picked my self off the ground and huffed then started to stomp away until Alex grabbed my hand and spun me around to face him. “hey don’t be mad you bumped into me!” “yea well I was not expecting you to be right outside the door!”

A slight blush creped onto his face but I ignored it “so I just wanted to apologize for being an ass to you about Chris but I don’t like him one bit.” I frowned at that but he kept going “but if that’s what makes you happy to be with him I will try to accept you two”

A smile lit up my face and I gave Alex a big hug and he just hugged me back “thank you for being happy for me and yes I really like Chris and I really appreciate you accepting it.” Alex smiled at me but then his face turned serious “if he breaks your heart I will make sure to break something of his” I just laughed “Thanks Alex but I think I’m good for now” “anyway who is this girl who has got you rapped around her little finger?” I ask not really knowing if I wanted to know the answer

He suddenly got shy and a blush rose to his face “um.. uh.. where did you hear that” he said with a uncomfortable laugh “ugh I was walking by your room and heard you talking to your friend about this supper amazing girl who is making you break your image” making air quotes around your image

He just looked around nervously not making eye contact with me until

The girls ran out and attacked me “Jane I can’t believe you almost left to go see Chris before we woke up!” Sky screamed I just smiled at my best friends silently thanking them for breaking the tension. “I didn’t leave with out telling you if you don’t remember I wrote you a little note.” I said with a wink. They all just rolled their eyes and Alex casually slipped away

Alex’s POV

I silently thanked the girls for saving me back there. I don’t know what Jane heard but I was hoping that she did not know it was her.

I walked up to my room and instantly pulled off my shirt getting ready for a run.

I need to get Jane out of my head! I can’t do this to her, she finally is happy with some one.

Some one said “If you love something, Set it free... If it comes back, it's yours, If it doesn't, it never was yours....”

My mind silently nagged “what if she doesn’t come back!”

Ugh… I pushed all thoughts of Jane and that prick chad or what ever his name is. I roughly tied my shoes and hooked my iPod into its arm strap going strait to my favorite album.

I laughed at the playlist Jane made me on my birthday last summer with all of her favorite songs. I pressed play and walked out the front door.

Janes POV

I was walking out of the house with Chris and waving bye to my dad.

When I turn around I see Alex standing there. Then I saw something flash through his eyes, but before it was even there it was gone his face hardened and he run away.  

I just stared at the spot where he was before Chris pulled me into his car and we drove away.
