The favor

It was the middle of the night in Elmore, while only one Watterson was awake, having not been able to sleep. When she gets a call from a number she hadn't seen in many years. She hesitatingly accepted the call. "Hey sister! How have you been-" The woman asked before getting cut off. "Just get to the point what do you need Katie?" Nicole asked her sister.
"I need you to take care of Drea" she replied. "Audrey? Why?" Nicole asked confused. "I got arrested." Katie confessed. "She'll get taken away for good if you don't take her, please Nicole, I know I haven't been a good sister to you since, well since you were born. If you don't take her she'll most likely be given to a stranger or mom and dad." Katie added. "I'll do it, I'll take her in until your out." Nicole accepted. "She's at the house with a officer now if you want to go get her" Katie said before hanging up.

Nicole sighed and got into her car. As she was driving her mind drifted away to Audrey. She last saw her when she was four years old, she looked a lot like her mother who looked like her father, Nicole took after her mother's appearance but her sister took after her father's appearance. Her mind came back to her as she pulled into a apartment complex parking lot with police cars everywhere. She got out of the car and a police officer walked over to her. "Are you Nicole Watterson?" He asked Nicole. "Yes that's me" She clarified. "I'm assuming you're sister called you, The kid is in the back of the car, she's passed out so you'll have to bring her to your car." The officer said before opening his car door. Then Nicole saw her niece. Audrey had cut her long light brown hair and dyed the tips a pale purple color. She thanked the officer before carrying the girl to her car. "Hey Audrey, wake up." She said trying to wake her up. Audrey stirred and eventually woke up. "Aunt Nicole?" The girl asked as she rubbed her eyes. "Yep, you are going to be staying with me for a while okay?" Nicole said as she buckled up the girl. "Okay" Audrey yawned. Nicole smiled and got into the car. Before she left though she went into the apartment and grabbed Audrey her clothes, phone, and some makeup. Then she got ready for the drive home.

"Have fun while it lasts Audrey" a voice said in a ominous yet concerned voice.
