"Four bags of your honey sweets, please." The woman behind the counter nodded, grabbing three brown paper bags. She shuffled over to the large containers of candies behind her, almost knocking over her coworker in the process. She scooped out several spoonfuls of yellow candy into each bag before handing them to me. "Thank you," I smiled, handing her a few gold coins. She nodded and I went on my way.

Now I just have to find the daily newspaper for Drista.

I searched for the usual newspaper stand, but in the large crowd of people trying to get out of the rain, I couldn't find it. I apologized as I pushed people aside with my shoulders, fighting my way across the street. "I don't see what's the problem with rain in the first place," I mumbled under my breath.

"We're in noble territory," a voice said from behind me. I turned sharply and readied to slap the man across the face. "They don't like getting their clothes wet." He smiled at me, holding up his hands whilst mine was raised, ready to strike his face. It was just Wilbur.

"Oh, your majesty." I lowered my hand with a sigh. "Apologies, I'm not used to being snuck up on." He laughed and handed over a copy of today's newspaper.

"Here, got one before the stand got rained on." He pointed over my shoulder and I looked over to see that under people's hurried steps the stand lay on the ground, broken and soggy. I rolled up the newspaper, sticking it into my bag.

"What are you doing out in the city? Shouldn't you have Tommy and Tubbo with you? L'manburgians aren't the most beloved around here." It was true, Clayden civilians usually thought of the people in L'manburg as traitors due to the war over a hundred years prior, when the ruler of L'manburg broke the original treaty and killed the king of Clayden. At least, that's what Kig told me.

"Don't worry, I'm good at not looking royal. Besides, I doubt anyone would be stupid enough to attack visiting royalty." He paused and looked around. "This town is beautiful, though. Too big for one to wander alone." He glanced over, raising his brows. "So," he held out his arm, "would you care to tour me around?" I glanced at the castle, Drista was probably waiting for me. But a short walk couldn't hurt.

I slipped my arm around his and he smiled, starting our walk. First, we strolled past the various shops that lined the streets, grabbing some food from Mrs. Sweets Bakery. Then we walked into the center of town, where there was a large marble fountain engraved with beautiful sculptures of flying birds and swimming dolphins. We sat and ate out food for a while, talking about random things like books and politics and the occasional mention of our jobs.

"I think I'd rather be a miner," Wilbur said, staring into the fountain.

I hummed, glancing over at him as I took the last bite of my chocolate cake. "Why is that?"

"I could blow things up." I chuckled, and he smiled. "I'm serious! Explosions are so cool but I can't do any whilst I'm a king because then everyone will be like. 'Oh he's gone mad!'" He raised his voice a few octaves, waving his arms.

"You know, if you wanted to blow things up, you could just drop the crown and be a minor terrorist."

"Nah, don't tell him I said this, but I don't trust Tommy with the crown yet," he whispered, looking around in case the blond happened to pop out of nowhere.

"So he's your brother?" Wilbur nodded, leaning against the wall with a smile.

"Brother and a forever pain. What about you?" I looked over, a brow raised. "Got any brothers--or just siblings for that matter?" I thought for a moment, getting lost in what he meant. Dead siblings, yes. Alive, no. I ended up shaking my head, smiling at him.
