Monday 5 minutes until the end of lunch
Nath’s POV
I don’t know what Mari said to Marc, but I hope that not everything.
I don’t want our friendship to be messed up because of that.
We are right now in the Art room, making some ideas for the comic books, while Chelsea and Mari are at the bigger table, finishing off the T-Shirts and banners together.
“Nath, are you ok?” Marc looked at me while I stopped spacing out.
“Sorry, I just can’t focus today.” I didn’t lie about that, because I can’t focus when I have other stuff in my head.
“Same, maybe a break?” I nodded while we leaned on our chairs.
It was quiet for a bit, which was nice. I like a bit of silence to think about some stuff.
It was quiet until Marc broke the silence.
“Can I ask you something?” I nodded. “I don’t know how to ask this in a way that you won’t be embarrassed to answer, but umm… did you mind that time that Chelsea and I were working together on the project?”
I froze when he said that. I don’t know if I should answer it honestly or what he wants to hear.
“You minded?” He saw me unable to answer.
“It is not that I mind that you are hanging out with your friends… It is just… I- I feel that you don’t like my company with you.” I bluffed out.
He stopped looking at me for a bit before continuing. “Oh… I- I am sorry that you felt that w-way. I really like your company more than anyone else’s, to be honest.”
“I should be sorry for thinking that way. And thank you.”
He placed his hand on my shoulder. “You are an awesome person, and my best friend.”
I smiled at him when he said that. This worked out well.
But why do I feel weird after the word ‘best friend’?
And why do I feel like I am blushing like crazy right now?
Monday class time
Mari’s POV
“Hey, I am sorry to bother you, but I am looking for people who can help me and my parents at the bakery today after school, do you want to help out?”
“Sorry, Marinette, but I will be busy at that time.”
“Sorry Marinette, but I am 89.76% sure that my Mum wants me to help out cleaning the house that time.”
“Sorry, but we need to practice for the Kitty Section’s new song release.”
I have asked everyone in the classroom if they can help out. Turns out that they can’t do it at that time. I also gave Mylene and Kitty Section their stuff before I asked them that question.
