5. Hidden Desires (18+)

A week has passed since Louis announced his new identity to his pack members. The werewolves' king ceremony has been postponed due to threatening letters received by Louis.

Selena still sees the same dream every night, in which she feels a strong pull towards a man who is blurry in her dreams.

"I'm back, Mom!" Selena called out as she entered the house.

"How was your day, honey?" Lisa asked. "How are those furry creatures?"

"They're not creatures, Mom," Selena corrected. "They're animals. And they're so cute! You should come with me sometime and see for yourself."

Selena had recently joined an animal rescue club near her college campus. She had always loved animals and dreamed of opening her own shelter someday. But before that, she had to focus on her other dream: becoming an architect.

Selena was exhausted after a long day of work. She had been working on her design for the Architectonics year award, and she was eager to finish it. The prize money would help her to open her own architect studio, which had been her dream for years.

Selena knew that her father, Daniel, would be happy to invest in her studio, but she didn't want to take his money. She wanted to earn her own success, just like he had done.

A few days earlier, Daniel had asked Selena when she was going to open her own studio. Selena had told him that she was still working on her designs, and that the competition was on Wednesday.

"You don't have to work hard for this competition," Daniel had said. "I'll invest in your studio."

"Come on, Dad," Selena had said. "You know I don't want to take advantage of your network and money. I learned this from you to rely on our own capabilities. You are my role model. Rain and I, we both saw your struggle in building this multi-billionaire empire. And I want to follow your footsteps in earning my own success."

"I'm proud of you, Sel," Daniel had said. "I think my daughter has grown up now."

"Dad," Selena had said. "Just to ease your worries, this competition is not to win the prize. It's to gain a network and showcase my talent in front of all the brilliant designers. Also, Rain is coming to motivate me during the competition. You know my brother has become an famous actor. He finally took time from his busy schedule and will spend his entire month with us."

"Great, Sel," Daniel had said. "I feel more proud when I saw both of you working hard. But I got both of your backs, you know this right?"

"We both love you, Dad," Selena had said. "You are our support system."

"Okay, Sel, let's stop this emotional talk here," Daniel had said. "I need to go for my shift at the animal rescue club."

Daniel sighed as he walked away. He was proud of his children, but he also felt a sense of loss. They were growing up and becoming independent. He knew that he would always be there for them, but he also knew that they would no longer need him as much as they used to.

Selena sighed as she thought about her conversation with her father. She was grateful for his support, but she also wanted to prove to him that she could succeed on her own. She knew that she had the talent and the drive, and she was determined to make her dream a reality.

As Selena prepared to take a shower, she sensed a presence observing her from the nearby woods. This was the first time she had experienced such a sensation near her family's residence, which was located close to the entrance of a dense forest.
