The moon loomed high in the sky, it's beautiful soft glow illuminating everything as far as I could see. I was sat next to my best friend in the whole world, Audrey on a small hill outside of the boarding school we go to, Holloway Hall - School for Girls, overlooking the countryside (because of course it's in the middle of nowhere). It was most definitely past curfew by a good few hours as nobody else had been around except for a lone security gaurd for ages. "We should probably go to our dorms soon..." She said turning to me, a strand of her curly chocolate brown hair falling into her face, I nodded. "Yeah, let's go." I smiled jumping to my feet "hope we don't get caught again!" She grabbed my hand and pulled herself up quickly, her trademark smirk plastered on her face, brown eyes glinting. And so we went, ducking around security cameras, tiptoeing up steps until we had to part ways at the top of the last set of stairs to go off to our seperate dorms. "Same time tommorrow?" we both said in unison. "Good" she winked at me. Then she left to her dorm leaving me at mine. Taking a deep breath in, i opened the door as quietly as I could, holding my breath and going in, pressing my body up against the door trying to muffle any sound it made when closing. I sighed in relief, another successfu- "sneak out with your little girlfriend again did ya?" I whipped my head around to see my room-mate, Allessandra Prescott sitting on her bed, an evil grin on her smug face "She's not my girlfriend" I mumbled to the ground, feeling my face grow hot. "You're lucky that I'm a nice person, otherwise I would have snitched by now." She laughed to herself. I was getting impatient now, I took off my shoes and resisted the urge to throw one at her. Scowling at her, I picked up a pair of my pyjamas and marched off to the bathroom to get changed, the thing was, I knew she wouldn't do anything, she was probably waiting until I did something worse than usual so she could snitch on me with the additional rule breaking to get me expelled or something. I don't know... She annoys me but never really does anything. So that's just what I think. The next morning I'm woken up by the horrible sound of girls giggling, like nails on a chalkboard. A group of Allessandra's 'friends' were crowded around my desk, Allessandra in the middle of the group the group reading something out. Peeling my eyes open I sat up, wondering what could be so funny. Starting to listen, I quickly realised what they were reading, my diary! Horrified, I leapt out of bed, panic surging through me. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING? OH MY GOD GET YOUR BIG POINTY NOSE'S OUT OF MY DIARY!" I exclaimed as I nocked the book out of Allessandra's filthy little perfectly manicured hands. I felt my face go as red as a lobster, my eyes starting to water, "Oh Cameron, why do you have to be such a baby all the time?" Allessandra sneered, I didn't respond, I just retrieved my diary from the ground and with my clothes, locked myself in the bathroom. With shaky hands, I started getting dressed, trying not to make my sobbing too audible, in case of being ridiculed even more. I hate them, oh, I hate them so, so much! The worst part was, I didn't even know how much they'd read, which parts they'd read or anything! I heard them all leave shortly after I'd finished getting dressed and deemed it safe to leave the bathroom, I went straight down to breakfast. I didn't care that I was still sniffling, I just wanted to speak with Audrey, that always makes me feel so much better. I looked around the dining hall, worried for a moment that she wouldn't be there at all, but there she was, in our usual spot, waving at me past two tall piles of pancakes with extra syrup. My heart ached, I could've burst into tears all over again because of what a good friend she is! "CAM!" She called me over beaming enthusiastically, I walked over to our table and sat down opposite her in front of the slightly smaller stack of pancakes. "Sorry yours is smaller, there weren't enough gluten free ones." She told me, obviously very disapointed in herself. I gave her a small smile, indicating that I didn't mind and tried to work out how to start cutting it. "Hey, are you okay?" Audrey asked, eyebrows knitting together anxiously. I fixed my gaze on my oversized stack of pancakes and simply shook my head, frightened that if I said anything or looked her in the eyes I would start sobbing all over again, uncontrollably. "Hey, what happened? You can tell me you know. It wasn't that b**chy Prescott girl again was it?" She demanded standing up to get a better view of the dining hall to catch sight of Allessandra. I grabbed her hand, pulling her down, "yes but don't do anything, she's blackmailing us. Plus, it's not like you could actually do anything, her family's rich AF, she won't get in trouble. We will though, she knows about our late curfews and everything!" Clenching her teeth, she balled her hands into fists and fiddled with her rings quietly. "What did she actually do though?" she questioned, glancing up at me. Clearing my throat I said, "read out my diary to about 8 people, I don't know how much she read but my secrets'll be everywhere by 10 o'clock at this rate." I felt a lump in my throat again but swallowed it down hastily. Audrey shook her head in disaproval, staring into her lap, "Someone needs to deal with her-" "BRINGGGG" The bell startled us, making her jump. Time to go I guess.
So that was the first chapter! How'd you like it? I've literally spent ALL day on this! I'm not sure if it's very good so please leave any advice you have! I will ALWAYS accept constructional criticism so please feel free to say anything. How do you like the story? I'm not really sure what is going to happen next, I'm kinda just winging it at the moment but I PROMISE I'll figure out an ACTUAL plot soon! I have a little bit of an idea of what'll happen but I don't really know 100% yet. I AM only in S2 right now (Year 8 or 9 in England I think, and 7th Grade in America I'm sure) so I'm obviously not FANTASTIC but I'm trying! This is just for fun so please don't expect a masterpiece. So basically, the main character is a girl named Cameron Reeds (I hope there's not allready a character or person out there with that name) and this first chapter is kind of just her, her best friend Audrey Pickett and Cameron's horrid room-mate Allessandra Prescott just talking and establishing what kind of characters they are and how they interact with the world and one another. I think that's all I had to say? OK byeeee!
