Its nights like this that I remember why I forgive Colton for constantly being busy and missing our dinners
I cant hold it over his head, he's just busy and I knew that when I first met him.
But no matter how many times he may disappoint me he will be the very same one to cheer me back up.
We just got back to my house and I persuade him to stay over to watch a movie
"Okay fineee, but I cant stay for too long I have an early morning tomorrow" he states
I jump up and down and hug him tightly "Yayy! ThankyouThankyouThankyou!"
He chuckles and my childishness and whispers in my ear "You don't need to thank me, I love spending time with you."
My heart melts
Who knew this tough hockey player could be such a softie.
We decide on a movie and envelop ourselves in a big blanket
I'm not entirely focused on the movie, every few minutes I look over to Colton and admire his features
His fluffy brown hair, his light brown eyes that look like pools of honey, the way his lip twitches when he finds something funny...
"I can see you staring at me" Colton teases
I hide my face in the blanket and giggle "Guess I was caught!"
He pulls me into his lap, his thumb caressing my face, "you don't need to be shy"
I wiggle away from him trying to hide my embarrassment
(30 minutes later)
Colton starts getting out of the covers stretching
"Where are you going?" I question
"Gotta leave now Em" he frowns
I try to hide my sadness and get up to escort him out
"Don't look too sad, you'll see me again in two days" he says
"Two days is so longgg" I whine
He's gonna be so busy for the next two days that he probably won't even have time to answer my texts.
He steps forwards and our lips meet like the sun meets the moon during an eclipse
His large hand at my waist, the other on my rosy cheek
Every kiss we share is sweet and passionate, making my heart melt likes smores do at a campfire
Pulling apart from our kiss, I wrap him in a tight hug and wish him a goodnight, not wanting to get to sad. He understands this and soon enough I watch as he gets in his truck and drives away.
Its just two days! It'll be okay!
(Morning)
Its not okay, Its only the first day and it sucks not getting some kind of text from him
Despite knowing he has his phone off I decide to text him anyways
Emma: Good luck on your game, you'll do great!
I smile contently looking at my message. I start prepare myself some breakfast and head straight to work
(A few hours later)
I've had about 4 appointments and 3 emergency surgeries. Gosh, people really need to keep their socks away from their dogs
I've only just started my career and I've probably pulled out at least 50 socks from dogs stomachs.
Finally on my break, I only have one more appointment and then I'm done for today April steps into my office shutting the door behind me "Long day huh?" she says knowingly.
I agree and she sits next to me
We spend the rest of my break chatting and eating our lunches together
My last appointment just ended and I'm getting ready to leave, I gather my purse and keys and lock close up
Feeling rather tired I check my watch and see that its 8:00, No wonder why I feel so tired
I pull out my phone to see if there's any chance that Colton texted, he replied to my message with a heart
Not much but regardless I'm still happy he saw it
Finally arriving home I dump my purse in the entrance and quickly change into my most comfortable pajamas. My head hits the bed and I feel my muscles relaxing.
I read a book as usual before I go to bed
As soon as my eyes begin to grow tired I shut my book and place it on my nightstand
