Saving You; Chapter 11.

Jane finally graduated a few months after coming home from Rome with Maura. Jane got offered a position at BPD but told them about her plans to move to Rome as soon as possible so they sent off paper work to a department they are working with out in Rome. Maura began teaching in Rome at a local high school called ' Monroe Catholic School For Girls'

"Pass my the paint pot" Maura said as she looked at Jane who was carefully painting the bedroom wall.

"Yes boss" Jane laughed and passed the paint.

Maura poured paint into a large pallet and started to mix it round when Jane flicked her brush at Maura causing paint to splatter up Maura's cheek.

"Jane!" Maura yelled as Jane started to laugh uncontrollably.

"That is it!" Maura smiled as she shoved her paint brush in Jane's face.

"Come on Maura!" Jane laughed as she jumped on Maura and layed on top of her. Jane looked at Maura and slowly stopped laughing and then leaned in to kiss Maura who was looking up at her with her arms around her neck. Jane leaned down closer to Maura feeling her warm breath on her lips. Just as she was about to close the gap between then there was a loud knocking at the door.

"What the...Who could that be?" Jane questioned as she looked around and stood herself up then pulled Maura up. The knocking came around again but even louder.

"Alright! Alright jheeze!" Jane yelled as she let go of Maura's hand and walked to the door and pulled it open.

Maura looked at Jane from the spot they were standing in then began to walk closer to her.

"Can i help you?" Jane asked as she leaned one arm against the door.

"Im looking for.." The man said then stopped as he saw one of Maura's arms hug around Jane's waist then saw Maura's face appear beside Jane.

"Maura.." He said quietly to himself.

"Ian!" She blurted as she saw the man.

"What? Wait you mean you know him?" Jane asked as she looked down at Maura

"Know me? Im her husband" Ian laughed.

"Ex!" Maura quickly corrected him.

Jane's eyes opened wider as she looked at Ian then back to Maura.

"Husband?!" Jane exclaimed

"It was a long time ago Jane." Maura said as she looked up at Jane.

"Yeah..How am i supposed to know that" Jane said angrily then walked inside and left Maura at the door.

"Ian! What are you doing here?!" Maura said quietly with anger in her voice.

"I needed to see you. Needed to know you were alright. I... heard about you father" Ian said as he went to put a comforting hand on Maura's forearm but she moved away.

"Come her for god sake!" Ian said gritting his teeth and trying to pull Maura close to him.

"Mm..No..I wouldn't" Maura said as she pointed inside to Jane.

"She's a cop" She said.

"Oh..A cop huh?" Ian smiled.

"Yup..And my girlfriend. So you dont need to check up on me or anytime in the future as it goes. Goodbye Ian." Maura said then closed the door and stood there for a moment with her eyes closed before braving herself to walk into the room where Jane was.

"Jane...?" Maura said as she sat on the chair next to Jane.

"Ian and i divorced a long time ago. Its over." Maura said as she placed her hand on Jane's thigh.

"Then why's he here Maura?" Jane asked.

"He...He asked about my Father. They were close when we were...together. Like father and son. He was just checking up. I promise nothing is going on. I love you and only you" Maura explained then pulled Jane closer.

"You know i would never hurt you.." Maura whispered then cupped Jane's face and pulled her in for a kiss causing Jane to lay on her.

"I love you Jane" Maura said.

"I love you too..." Jane replied then pressed her lips hard again Maura's.
