Piper's POV

"Dont do anything I wouldnt do now you two!" A drunk Louis called as Harry pulled him out of the doorway.

"I'm cleaning up the mess you made Louis." I said laughing as Harry supported his weight making Louis chuckle.

"You're so good to me Hazza." He said poking one of Harry's curls.

"I'll see you soon Piper." Harry said looking up at me making me nod.

"Bye." I said smiling as he went, holding onto Louis, joining the other boys in the elevator. I chuckled closing the door and walked down the step into the living room, grabbing a damp clothe and running it over the table where Louis had spilt some beer.

"You know you dont have to help." Zayn said walking in with a garbage bag.

"It's okay, I want to." I said smiling up at him as I continued to scrub down the table. I cleaned the surface off and walked down the hall, placing it in the sink before retunring back down the hallway. I leaned on the door frame watching as he pushed empty bottles into it and set it back down. He turned around and smiled as his eyes met mine. He fell down on the couched and sighed closing his eyes making me chuckle. I walked over to the couch across from him and sat down on the arm rest starring at him as he opened one eye, peeking over at me making me laugh.

"Are you going to tell me why you stormed out?" I asked making him sit up taller and sigh slightly. He patted the spot on the couch beside him and I hesistated before I walked over, sitting down on the couch and facing him with my legs cross.

"It's just." He began, sighing. I could tell he felt embarrassed to tell me, or scared to tell me. I put my hand on his knee making his eyes snap open and look at my hand then up at me slowly.

"The boys all belong in the band, they all have a role they fit into and play well. I dont, I'm just there. I'm no good and I'm not appreciated. Hearing you say that I didnt really fit in made me mad, just because I thought you out of all people wouldnt think like that." He said, all really quietly. My eyes widened, my mouth drying a bit. I didnt want him to think like that, to think I'd judge him.

"Zayn." I said tilting my head making him look up at me. "If anything I meant it in a compliment, I like that you're different. You belong in the band, you have fans that love you. You wouldnt have been put in the band if you didnt fit. You have amazing talent Zayn, dont ever think that you dont." I said making him nod. I shifted forward and nudged him with my shoulder making him smirk and look at me.

"I think you fit in." I said quietly making him put his arm around me. He pulled me into a tight hug and ran his hands up and down my back making me smile into his neck.

"Thanks Piper." He whispered making me nod. I pulled my head back to pull away but he kept his hold on me. He licked his lips slightly, his eyes traveling from my lips to my eyes and back down again. Was he going to kiss me? He leaned his head in, his forehead coming to mine. Heavy breathing exchanged in the short distance between us as his nose pressed against mine. He tilted his head slightly and I pulled back gasping. I stood up quickly making him raise one eyebrow.

"Piper?" He asked as I breathed heavily.

"I'm sorry." I said shaking my head and turning heading for the door at a quick speed.

"Piper!" He repeated louder. I picked the pace up and broke into a run as I reached the door and opened it, running into the hall way and closing it behind me. I ran to my flat and opened it quickly before slamming the door. I leaned against the door breathing heavily and slid down, bringing my knees up and burrying my head into the space inbetween. I couldnt kiss him, I couldnt open up to someone like that, someone I cared about and be hurt like I was. History has an act of repeating itself.

Zayn's POV

It's been about a week since I've last seen Piper. I'm pretty positive she's ignoring me and I had no idea why. Well I knew it was because I tried to kiss her, I just didnt know why. She seemed interested in me, like she wanted to kiss me. But she pulled away last second and not only that but she ran off after. Every time I go on the roof she's not there and now I find myself going up later just to avoid her.

I looked at the clock beside my bed, 12:23 am. I sighed throwing the blankets off of me, I wasnt getting to bed. I got up pulling jeans on and a hoodie on that had a package of smokes already in its pocket. I pulled the hood up as I walked out of the flat and down the hall, passing Piper's flat. I walked to the staircase and began the climb up to the top. Once I finally reached the top I pulled the package of cigarettes out and pushed the door open. I lit a smoke and put it inbetween my lips as I placed the package back in the pocket. I turned the corner and stopped seeing someone sitting there. It was Piper. Her long blonde hair was draped over a black hoodie and she was in dark jeans, her legs crossed as she leaned back looking up at the stars. I took a step forward making her turn her head back to face me. Her eyes widened slightly before they narrowed then lightened and a small smile forced on her lips. She patted the spot beside her and I smiled, blowing smoke out of my mouth and proceeding to the spot. She noticed I was smoking and rolled her eyes, before waving the smokey air out infront of her. I held the smoke on my left side raising one eyebrow at her making her nod.

"You've got to quit." She said quietly, the first words she's spoken to me in  a week. I chuckled and turned my head away from her taking a drag and blowing it out before looking up at the stars. I looked up at the stars immediatly finding the big dipper.

"can you see the big dipper?" I asked looking over at her as her blue eyes scanned the twinkling sky. She shook her head and I took her arm in my hand telling her to point. I put her arm up and closed one eye looking up, moving my head closer to hers so I could try and see what she was seeing. I found it and smiled.

"See that cluster of stars there?" I asked making her nod. "That's it." I said making her tilt her head. She smiled happily and I let go of her arm . She placed hers back in her lap and I could see her look at me out of the corner of my eye.

"Are you mad at me?" She asked making me look over at her.

"Just confused." I said making her nod as her gaze fell down to the city lights.

"I'm just a confusing person, you have to have a handbook when getting to know me." She said laughing quietly making me chuckle.

"Give me the hand book, I'm willing to learn." I said watching her stop laughing, her face turning serious. She looked over at me, her eyes widened slightly. I just smiled and turned away from her taking another drag of the cigarette.

"The boys and I are going to the club tomorrow night, want to come?" I asked look back at her, her gaze was back up at the stares. She nodded, a smile growing on her lips.

"i'd like that." She said looking over at me.

"Great. Just dont run from me this time." I joked making her hit my arm causing me to laugh as she rolled her eyes.

"You're a pain in the ass." She said chuckling, her beautiful eyes falling on mine and grabbing a hold of my gaze.

"And you're a pain in mine." I said making her stick her tongue out at me making me smile as I starred at her taking her beauty in. taking in the way her face lit up from the city lights, the way her eyes twinkled from the stars. If there was a way I could admit this to her I would, I was captivated by her.
