Narrator

Finn paced around in his room, reading his speech over and over again. After winning the award for best actor of the year, he was supposed to make a speech after receiving his Oscar at the after event.

Finn had done great in his recent movies, not to mention his outstanding performance in StrangerThings 5, the final season of the Netflix series.

He had given his best, and his best had been proven in his works. His brilliant works at that, but that still didn't stop him from being nervous about the whole action.

"I am e-entirely.. ugh, no. Entirely.. g-gre- no.."

He's a great actor, so he wonders to himself how he can't make a simple speech in front of hundreds of people. Y/n walks in, fixing her earring, dressed in a white and navy blue gown.

She stood at the doorway for a moment, looking at Finn, and feeling bad for him, he was pacing the room with a notepaper in his hands. "Babe."

She called, and walked in, making the man's attention divert from the paper to her. "Please.. y/n not right now I-"

She sat down on the bed and crossed her legs. "Turn to me and say your speech to me." Finn grew confused, he didn't understand why she wanted to hear it, it was a waste of time if he couldn't say it himself.

"I.. well.. I- I am.. e-.. en- I can't."

"Yes you can, speak to me, don't look at everybody else, speak only to me." Finn turned his eyes away from the paper and looked at y/n, with slightly teary eyes.

"There is no one here, just us." She smiled softly and straightened her dress. "Just us.." Finn repeated as he nodded.

"Go on."

With that, Finn tried to steady his fingers and started out his speech, like he were speaking only to her, thanking her for his success. And all she could do was smile and watch.

At the after event, everybody was mingling, talking and having a nice time. Finn and y/n walked in hand in hand, still, he was feeling quite nervous about going up on stage in front of this many people.

He sighed and looked at y/n, who gave him a sincere look, nodding at him and rubbing her thumb across his knuckles. To soothe him. A tug was found at the corner of his mouth, he smiled and bowed his head a little bit, to look at her, admire her.

"Look at you.. you're gorgeous." Y/n smiled at him as he brought their hands up, and placed a gentle kiss and their intertwined hands. "Breathtaking.." he whispered. "As are you." She repeated to him.

After a couple minutes, the couple walked in, greeting everybody else and talking until they found their seats. Both waiting until it was Finn's time to get on stage, and after 1 hour, it was.

"Let's have a round of applause for our best actor of the year, Finn Wolfhard!" His eyes slightly widened, as now everybody was expecting him on stage in any moment. He didn't know it but his hands were shaking, and he was close to sweating, until..

"Finn." A voice called for him. He looked next to him, and saw the love of his life. He was fighting tears when she intertwined their hands again.

"Focus on me." She says calmly, rubbing her other hand on top of their two. "There is no one here but us." She smiles softly.

"Speak only to me, don't look at them. Just me, Just us." It took a second but he nodded, and got up, fixing his suit, hesitant to go up and let go of her hand but he had to.

And once he felt away from her hid hands started shaking, his forehead was getting wet, as he walked through the crowd. It felt like an eternity.

It felt like walking through a sea of fire ants, that's how uncomfortable he was. That was.. until he made on stage. He froze slightly.

Not knowing what to say, until he looked in a direction. Her direction. She was smiling at him and she nodded her head as her mouth moved..

"Only us."

And so he did exactly that, then started his speech.

"I want to thank you all for having me here today.. I want to thank the world honestly.. I am entirely grateful to have been given this amazing award which for a while I thought I didn't deserve, I mean, everyone sitting in this room has done smother incredible that will mark them for the rest of their lives, and I am honored to have been one of them. I want to thank everyone who made this possibility happen, my family, my friends, you, my fans.. and my fiancée. I couldn't have done what I did without them and.. especially her. I will leave today a proud man, because of all of your support.. thankyou."

And with that, everything went perfectly, his eyes on hers with every word of it, only flickering to everyone else when he thanked them. The crowd clapped and cheered as he held up his Oscar and left the stage.

Sitting down next to her, and letting down a well deserved breath. Y/n immediately threw her arms around him, engulfing him into a tight suffocating hug to which he hugged back.

"You did great, fantastic even, I'm proud of you."

"Thankyou, my love, I couldn't have done it without you."

She pulled away from the hug and wiped a tear off her face as Finn repeated. "No one here.."
"But us." She finished and the two shared a loving kiss.
