Diary,

My aunt Stefania has been the most amazing woman the past 3 years. I don't know where Gia and I would be if it weren't for her determination and strength of character. We were faced with some hard times, but Stef has really stepped up and taken care of us.

I worry about her so often, but I know that she knows what is best for everyone. We haven't had a nightly visitor in a few weeks. I was surprised to not hear a bump in the night, but relieved that my aunt had put a stop to it. That type of behavior should no longer be necessary with her new job. As a maturing teenager, I am not as naïve as Gia. I knew what auntie was doing, but what could I do to stop her? I don't bother talking to the young ones about it, they would never understand. Auntie took on that role to support us, and no matter what I'm proud to call her my guardian.

Oh... it's getting late and Auntie just came in from her office party. I hope she had a nice time. I hear voices out in the living room. I wonder if the "visitors" are back.

Oh, God.

Oh, God.

Oh, God.

They're hitting her. I hear her crying.

What should I do??
