I was down in Mantle wandering the dark, cold streets. I had my hoo— my mother's hood over my head to cover my ears. Sure, with Lilith now running the family company and even expanding it even larger than what it was when grandfather started it, us Faunus are still treated like second rate people, even successful Faunus like my family... or what's remaining of it.

Snow Munitions Industries, or SMI, is a company based around ammunition, artillery of all kinds, and the leading in breakthroughs in the use of Dust. Started by my grandfather, he gave the Faunus in Mantle/Atlas a thing to believe in especially with Nicholas Schnee starting the Schnee Dust Company. With both companies based around using the same product, Dust, they teamed up and started a partnership that has lasted through the years and is continuing even now, kind of.

Both of them treated all of their employees equally and fairly whether they be human or Faunus. When grandpa passed, the leadership transferred to Lilith and I's father, Jet Snow. He continued our family legacy of fairness and expanded the business gaining renown. The partnership between the Schnee Company and Snow Industries changed when Jackass... I mean Jacques Schnee married into the family to become the new CEO.

He is a racist who thinks he is above all, especially the Faunus. He has dragged their family's name through the mud. The only things keeping "his" company afloat are his corrupt business dealings and my family's company. The only members of their family that I enjoy the company of are Winter, the oldest daughter who joined the Atlas military, Willow, the mother of the Schnee children and husband to Jackass, and Weiss, my childhood friend and training partner. When father and mother were still alive our two families were frequently together so that allowed a lot of time for Winter, Weiss, Lilith, and I to bond and play.

Lilith is my older sister. Even with Lilith leading the company she wanted to join the military as well and follow Winter. She did, her along with Winter became Special Operatives and General Ironwood's left and right hands respectively. I don't remember much of the night mom and dad died, I just remember fire and the growls of many types of Grimm. Lilith and Raven spared me the details even as I got older. Right, Raven... she's a difficult character. The night of the Grimm attack Raven came to try and assist since father and mother were friends with Raven and her team during their time at Beacon. But she was too late, in the end, she took us in and raised us. She trained us how to survive, trained us how to fight, how to be tough... how to be strong.

The reason why she is a difficult character is because though she took us in, she already had a daughter that she had abandoned. I owe so much to Raven, and I care for her a lot, hell I see her as a mother figure but she knows I disapprove of what she did and I think deep down she does too but she's too proud to say that. Anyways, after our parents died the company ownership went to Lilith instantly and though we were with Raven, Lilith was still able to manage the company. She always spent all of her time with father, she knew the company was going to be hers to lead and she wanted to do the best she could. She remembers mom and dad clearly, I was too young to remember much so whenever she is home she tells me stories of them so I can know them.

What am I going to do? Weiss and I are getting ready to go to Beacon. Her to train to be a Huntress and I to be a Huntsman. To fight Grimm and protect those that can't protect themselves. From what I'm told by Raven and Lilith, father may have been a CEO but he knew his way around a tussle and mom was a full time Huntress. From hearing stories of their younger years I always looked up to them, especially mom.

Raven always says that I'm just like her, especially since I inherited her eyes. Her silver eyes. That's the only thing I clearly remember about her, like it's burned into my memory. I remember her telling me bed time stories, especially about Silver Eyed Warriors. Warriors armed with the pure power of blinding light. Mom said that with a single glance, they could eliminate a whole herd of Grimm. I always thought that was so cool.
