Taehyun changed since he returned from the summer camp; Huening Kai noticed something wrong about his friend, and he was left terrified of what unfolds upon his eyes.

There were friendships that lasted solely as one; there were also friendships that tended to alter its sole purpose when one desires to be more than what it is— Kai is currently in the latter's preposition.
The young boy is unable to recall ever liking anyone as much as his best friend, Taehyun. The only friend Kai truly felt a connection to, he was everything Kai wasn't, everything Kai had ever wished for.
He knew Kai more than anyone else, and Kai knew him more than he knew himself.
Kai's eyes wander as he spots Taehyun smiling sweetly at him in the kitchen.
It's still Taehyun who stood there, close to him.
Still the same face he loved staring at;
it was still the familiar captivating smile of his, the same eyes that looked at Kai as if he were someone so important, and the same voice that never failed to make Kai swoon over him.
Yet. . .
It felt like they weren't.
"I'm just..." Kai took a moment before pointing at the television, "gonna watch anime."
He saw Taehyun's face brightened as if he had just heard the most exciting thing in his life. Kai couldn't help but furrow his brows in the ambiguity of it all. There is really something about Taehyun these days; Kai was so close but so far on pointing out what exactly was it.
"Oh God, I missed watching those much, you know I used to skip sleep just to binge watch them." Taehyun let out a laugh as he plopped down next to Kai on the couch, their thighs instantly touching as their bodies were so close to one another.
Kai remained silent.
A month has passed since then. A month since Taehyun, his friend, has been acting very differently. It's as though, . . as if he had become a total stranger the moment he returned from their summer camp.
The small things. Kai noticed it.
The way he eats; Taehyun stopped drinking cola for two years now, but recently, he claimed it was his favourite. Also, Taehyun has never been touchy, but he is now.
His fingertips often wander around Kai's edges a lot, and his touches felt so foreign— his hands were always so cold.
Kai doesn't know if he's just thinking about things, but the drastic change of his friend is so palpable for him to ignore.
