In which Kai's sister begged him to go on a date for her, which, well, that includes Kai dressing up as his sister.

At the tender age of seven, Huening Kai had to deal with his parents' separation.

Kai could vaguely recall crying his eyes out, he watched his mother leave with his sisters while he stayed back with his father.

He doesn't really understand what was happening at the time; he doesn't understand why his parents had to live separately or why their eyes seemed to have lost its spark towards each other when all these years of living, Kai had only known of them being hopelessly inlove.

He doesn't understand it. Not at all.

Kai loved his father, he really does. He was Kai's role model after all, in more ways than one. His father had taught him about music, life and almost everything else.

Yet, he doesn't know why was he crying every night to sleep, wishing to God that his mother should've taken him with her instead.

Deep down, Kai felt rejected, wondering why it was that only he stayed behind when his mother left. Did his mother not like him? does she hates him? sure, Kai remembered being a little brat sometimes, but nonetheless, he'd been a good boy all his life.

Growing up, Kai often felt guilty for having the thoughts he had. He feels guilty of thinking how it was unfair that he was left with his father, when his father had been nothing but a good man to him. Or at least it's what he seems.

Kai knew his father loved him. Of course, he does. He could feel it, he could tell it even the words were left unsaid, his father showed it beyond words – by providing food, driving him to school everyday, and taking care of everything else without fail. He couldn't thank his father enough for everything he'd done for him.

Yet still, Kai somehow felt like he yearned for something more from him; attention or perhaps someone who's genuinely there with all of themselves present.

Kai stayed up late night after night, overcome with feelings of guilt for even wanting a shred of attention — he doesn't want to seem so needy.

Although, he is a needy child.

Kai wanted nothing but love, and attention. He wants to feel acknowledge, he wants to feel seen, he wants to be praised, to be touched, and to be held. Something his father showed less of as the time passed. Kai didn't say anything about it, for, maybe he was much too grown up to be asking for it anymore.
