The funeral had come in too early for Taehyung to even gather his thoughts. While all their relatives came over to pay their respects at the funeral house, he could only stare at the void with his eyes devoid of any feelings.

He had become numb. He could not hear anything. He could not see anything. It was as if his soul had gone off somewhere away from his body to be at peace.

His grandma had taken care of their property and had asked the boy to pack up since she decided to move them to her house. The old lady took it upon herself to inform the university about his transfer and everything.

When the procedure was all done, another boy volunteered to help her with the things from her grandson's locker. "Are you my grandbaby's friend?" she asked with a hopeful smile and the boy, Jackson, felt guilt settle in his heart.

Come to think of it, Taehyung had no friends at university and they were on the verge of finishing it and going out into the world. But Taehyung had no friends to go out with. He had no friends to celebrate or cry with him.

Jackson smiled, "Yeah." He paused contemplating the next question in his head before clearing his throat, "Why hasn't he come to uni in a while, though?" The old lady's smile dropped off her lips.

"His parents passed away. They met head-on with a truck driven by a drunk driver." Jackson audibly gasped and blinked away the tears, "Can I visit him, ma'am?" he asked unsure and the lady nodded.

"I would love that. The poor boy hasn't eaten in a week and been livin' off of two or three spoonsful a day. It'd be lovely if you could cheer up his spirit a little, sweety." The student nodded, "Thank you, ma'am."

The old lady tapped his hands reprimanding him for thanking her when she must be the one. Jackson volunteered to take her home and that he could also meet Taehyung before he left and the old lady agreed and nodded with a smile.

When they reached the house, he helped the lady out of his car and got the things. Jackson hesitated before stepping in and sighed when the old lady dragged him to the kitchen.

He felt guilt creep up in him seeing the stacked bowls which were barely touched. "Tae didn't eat anything today, as well?" the old lady sighed and it was more than enough an answer for him.

She had him wait at the table for a few minutes and soon placed a bowl of fruits and a glass of juice in front of him. "You're not like the picky kids who don't eat fruits, right?" Jackson chuckled before staring at the snacks.

"Can I eat it with Tae, ma'am?" the lady nodded her head and told him to hurry and that she'd bring some actual food for the poor boy.

As per the lady's instructions, he found the room and the purple name board let him know he was at the right door. He knocked thrice but let himself in. There Taehyung was.

Cocooned in his blanket sitting at the window sill staring out into nothing. His bread cheeks had visibly sunken and the eyebags very much stood out. Jackson gulped hard. He was a major asshole to that boy yet there he was hoping to make his victim feel better.

Just the words in his head made him want to laugh. He was an A-grade asshole to the poor kid who never deserved it, scratch that! No one deserves to be bullied. He had been such a hypocrite! Jackson scratched his nape as he trudged in closing the door behind him, "Uhm... Tae?" The male did not even make an effort to turn back.

"Are you here to bully me, Jackson? You couldn't hold yourself for even a few days? You hate me that much?"

Before the elder could say anything to defend himself, the younger continued with a sigh, "Bully me. I won't feel a thing anymore, anyway. Don't hold back. Bully some senses in-into me, wil-will you?"

Jackson set the tray down and hugged the sobbing male, "I'm so sorry, Tae. I swear I'll be a good friend. I'm so sorry. God, I'm such a monster." He continued to apologize while Taehyung cried about how his mother would never wake him up again.

He succeeded in getting the brunet to his bed and fetched the tray. Taehyung only stared at the wall with puffy eyes, sniffling his nose. "You can't afford to go on a diet, you know? You'd fly off if I were to punch you."

That had the younger turn to Jackson and flash a thanks-for-trying-I-really-need-that smile. Well, what Jackson said was true. Very much. He was an alpha and one of the best warriors at that. He excelled in every training session and always had his opponents bite the dust at the duals.

He was the strongest, next to none other than the head alpha's bigger asshole of a son, Jeon Jungkook. They were never on good terms and Jungkook loved lifting Jackson and slamming him to the ground as if he weighed nothing and have a good laugh.

"I swear I'll wait till the day you're heavily injured so I can break your bones, jackass."

"Before that, you'd be my faithful dog and die for me, shithead."

No particular reason, they just hated each other. Let's blame the hormones.

Meanwhile, Taehyung had gone back to admiring the wall. The other student held up a spoon of porridge in front of his mouth, "Open up." The younger shook his head pushing away the arm, "Go home, Jackson. Thanks for visiting and trying. I kinda needed that."

"And you need food as well, so I'm not leaving anytime soon. Not until all the porridge is gone."

Taehyung turned his head away. Jackson chuckled to himself before doing the food flight, "The flight's gonna land! We need clearance soon. Mayday! Mayday!" The younger stared at the male amusedly before unconsciously opening up.

He chewed staring at the male who was ruffling his hair and praising him, "Taehyungie eats so well! Eat more." Soon the bowl was over and Jackson handed him a tissue and a glass of water while he went down to help wash the dishes.

A few minutes passed and Taehyung heard the door open. Jackson took a seat next to his bed leaning on it, legs crossed on the edge of the bed. He turned to catch the hazel eyes trained on him, "Am I that handsome?"

"Why?" the younger asked, tome completely monotonous and serious as fuck, "Why are you here at my house, in my room out of all the places you could be in right now? Did someone put you up to this? Did my grandma call you over? I don't see a reason here, Jackson..."

The other took a deep breath, head hanging low unable to face Taehyung, "I thought hard about why I bullied you and I couldn't think of a reason. And I also realised you're a great friend and that I'm fucking stupid. So, here I am. I want to be your friend. Someone you could call up to rant about your boyfriend or speak trash about your exes. Hang out when we have no lovers to go to.

"I'm sorry. I know you think I'm trying to fool you but I swear I'm not. I just wanna be your friend again so you don't go through life alone anymore."

Taehyung stared at him for a good few minutes before tears blurred his vision, "Thank you. Please don't break my trust again. I have no one else to trust anymore." Jackson smiled, "I won't, Tae. Cross my heart and hope to die."

"Stick a needle in your eye?" the younger peaked from under his lashes while Jackson scrunched up his face grossed out by the image in his head, "Let's not poke my eye out with a needle. That would hurt like a bitch, ugh!" Taehyung laughed before the other joined in.

Taehyungonly realised it later that night after Jackson had left. He had smiled genuinely for the first time since his parents passed away.
