The five of them wandered around the region, which was well lit by small sparkling balls of green gas moving in circles on the ceiling. On the ground, several towels of different colours were set up beside a few tents and contained collections of various objects found on land and in water such as seashells, algae, weapons and bones. Some of the beings examined what was displayed as if they were deciding whether or not they wanted them.
Referring to the man from the past, Liz said, "I can't believe he's still following us."
Peter replied, "Maybe he's like us and didn't think his plan through."
Rodolf added, "As stupid as it is, it's useful. We still don't know what to do with him."
Giovanni said, "We need to figure something out. Any ideas, Sasha? Sasha?" Giovanni repeated himself when Sasha didn't respond.
Giovanni, Peter and Rodolf turned to look behind them expecting to find Andy and Sasha.
Rodolf said, "Not again."
"Not again what?" asked Liz.
Peter added, "Andy is gone too." Then he understood the situation. "Oh."
Giovanni sighed. "I can't believe those two."
Liz didn't need them to clarify. She had already noticed that Andy and Sasha had stayed with the fish-human.

In Peter's head

Unbelievable! They're off having sex again. Can't they take anything seriously? You'd think sex was the most important thing in the world with those two. It makes me doubt what I've been feeling since we arrived here. I can't help but think something terrible is going to happen. This feeling refuses to go away. I don't think it has anything to do with our powers not working. That's a huge problem on its own but I think it's something more. Something worse. I guess it could just be me worrying too much because this guy is going to create a war. Liz has told me that I become a little over-emotional when it comes to war. I just don't think that's it. This guy creating a war does bother me but what if I'm not wrong about this feeling. What if something else is going to happen? How can I be the only one who feels it? Maybe my powers are growing. Maybe I'm becoming psychic. It begins with a feeling and not knowing what will happen to fully being able to see the future. That'd be wonderful. Another power to allow me to help people. It doesn't involve violence. It's perfect for me. I could see injured people and go out and find them to heal them. Except seeing the future has nothing to do with my current powers. From everything I know, anything developed comes from what our powers are based on. Mine have nothing to do with that. Then what is it? What's bothering me so much? As much as it worries me that none of us have our powers and as much as I miss them, I just don't think that's what's behind this feeling. Sasha has good instincts. If he's off having sex at a time like this, there's no way he's feeling this. Liz also seems to think everything else is fine. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'm just paranoid or worried that if one of us gets hurt, I won't be able to help this time. My mind did wander through all sorts of thoughts when we were stuck in alternate worlds. Maybe this is me reacting to different times. I shouldn't say anything. I'm just worrying myself again. I don't want anyone focusing on me when we have more important problems.

Giovanni, Peter and Rodolf followed Liz to the water's edge. Liz observed the other beings in the lake as she started a discussion on what to do with the man with the collar. It almost seemed too late to help even if the man continued to follow them despite him appearing to want to leave. A few times, he looked around trying to determine a way to walk out and safely travel through the forest to find someone in charge.

When they saw Andy and Sasha again, the four of them still hadn't thought of any good ideas. They watched Andy and Sasha exit a red tent with the being who had greeted them. Sasha's shirt was ripped from top to bottom in the middle so he tucked the ends into his pants to keep it from completely opening as he and Andy walked up to the others. The other four kept their comments to themselves regarding what the two of them had done and Peter updated the two of them on the lack of a plan to stop the man from the past. Not one among the four was surprised when Andy and Sasha admitted that they didn't have any ideas of their own. The six of them knew that they had to leave the cave in a short amount of time. Despite the danger most likely still awaiting them outside, it was only a matter of time before the man from the past went out on his own. Sasha suggested that they return to the woods to find the mansion where they had met the sight-seers. The other five agreed. Although it was unlikely that the man's guards had made a portal to the wrong continent, they hoped that that was the case. The seven of them drank some water from the lake before leaving the cave.

Outside, the group took their time stepping from one rock to the next while keeping watch for their attackers. They took a different path through the forest moving away from the body of water. All of them, except the man with the silver collar, searched for a mountain with a purple building. The six of them didn't know what else to do. They couldn't run like before. They didn't know where to go nor where they were. Since those within the unnatural forest saw them as a threat, it was doubtful that those outside the woods would see them differently. Unless their abilities functioned properly again, their best option was to find the sight-seers. In the distance, there were a few mountains but none of them seemed to have a mansion at their tops. The six of them were so focused on finding the purple structure that none of them noticed the red lights that flashed nearby. The man from the past tried to warn them by tapping Liz and Sasha on the shoulder but they ignored him. Giovanni and Peter suspected that something was going on seeing the man trying to get Liz' and Sasha's attention but when they looked around, the lights were off.

Within thirteen minutes, the hunters surrounded the group of seven and closed in on them. When the sixteen of them were close enough to be seen, each hunter displayed their weapons and tightened the circle. There was one with darts, another with boomerangs and others with knives and long guns.
Sasha exclaimed, "I definitely wish I had my abilities!"
Afraid, Liz added, "Me too."
Trying to convince himself and the others, Andy said, "Don't worry. No one's attacked yet. This could work out for us."
"By work out, do you mean locked up instead of killed?" asked Peter hoping to not die.
Giovanni added, "Andy is right. This could be a good sign."
Rodolf replied, "Maybe you can do that light trick like in the pyramid."
Even though it was unlikely, Giovanni tried to repeat the action. "It's not working."
Sasha said, "Everyone, get ready to fight. Peter, ... try." He didn't know what to say to convince Peter to fight. He was doubting his own ability at that moment.
Peter responded, "I don't think I can do this. They have weapons."
Liz was going to say something to comfort Peter when she noticed that the man from the past was gesturing with his arms to the hunters. "Does anyone know what he's doing?"
The others turned to look at him. The gestures meant nothing to the six of them and seemed to mean as little to their potential attackers. Suddenly, the man with the silver collar pulled out a gold coin, a silver one and a copper one. The hunters reacted positively. The man seemed to act out a scene where two people were having a conversation. The group of six assumed that he was requesting to speak to an authority figure.

The voice of the sight-seers' leader chimed in the heads of Andy, Giovanni, Liz, Peter, Rodolf and Sasha. "You must stop the meeting. We will create a portal to nothing. Send the disrupter into it."
"How?" responded Sasha aloud not used to a voice inside his head other than his own and Giovanni's.
Feeling that he couldn't do as much without his telekinesis, Andy said, "If only I had my ability."
A black portal appeared beside the man with the collar. He didn't notice it. His full attention was on communicating with the hunters clarifying what he desired. Rodolf stood at his other side a few meters away. Not thinking through his plan, Rodolf threw himself towards the man to push him into the hole. Giovanni heard Rodolf think that he wasn't sure if he could push the man into the portal without sending himself into it as well so Giovanni ran to stop him. Rodolf grabbed the man, pulled him closer to the black oval, then brought his own body to a stop to push the man in. Giovanni caught up to him as Rodolf extended his arms for the throw. The man from the past fell backwards towards the hole with his arms reaching out to grab anything that was solid. He successfully clutched Rodolf's sleeve with one hand and Giovanni's arm with the other. He wanted to use them to place his feet firmly on the ground but Giovanni and Rodolf lost their balance. The three of them were sucked into the hole and the dark oval vanished.

Confused, each one of the hunters stared at the spot where the portal had been. Andy, Liz, Peter and Sasha were stunned and gazed at the same place. A moving white portal quickly appeared behind them and swallowed the four of them.
