~sixteen~

you walked out of home room, annoyed because of asher, you also noticed that noah wasn't here today, which was strange, he was probably just unwell so you just ignored it, putting your bag over your shoulder

"oh my god riki! you're literally so funny"

that girl that's "one of the boys"
who clearly has a crush on all of the boys
i looked to my left down the hallway and saw riki, looking visually uncomfortable around paige
"riki you're actually one of the funniest guys i know" she was doing that annoying fake laugh, that irritating laugh, she annoyed you for literally just being there

"yeahhhh, okay" riki walked away from her, rolling his eyes, you couldn't stop yourself from busting into laughter at his reaction, paige had this shocked expression on her face, oh my god! a boy didn't give me attention!
he saw you laughing and started laughing too, like, properly laughing, he had such a pretty laugh, it made you smile even more

"y/n, what lesson do we have?"
you turned to riki, who had his headphones back on his neck, it looked really cool when he did that, well, you'd think anything he did was cool
"oh, we have PE, great" you sighed, PE was your worst subject, you hated it so much, and it was embarrassing whenever you had to mix groups with the boys
"oh i like PE, in my old school i was one of the best in PE" he laughed "i bet i wont be in this school"
"how can you enjoy it? i hate it so much!" riki could tell how much you hated the subject, and started laughing "it's not that bad"

-time skip-

you'd just finished getting ready for the lesson, you took out your body spray and used some before quickly tying your hair back into a low ponytail
usually you did PE in seperate groups, so you were expecting to be going outside and doing some netball or something
you heard your PE teachers voice "okay girls make your way to the sports hall"
oh shit

sometimes you had to do PE with the boys, if the gym wasn't open or if the courts or field were wet because of the rain

"miss are we doing PE with the boys?" you prayed so hard that you weren't, but you knew you would be
"yes, the field and courts are being used by another class, and the gym is being refurbished, so we have no choice but to do it as a big group"

great, you thought, i'm just gonna get targeted by colson again

you left the changing room with a couple of your friends who were in different classes to you
as soon as you left the changing room, jae-sung came over to you, looking annoyed

"why does that new kid hate me, asher and noah so much? whenever he looks at me he gives me these really weird looks"
you sighed "jae-sung, i don't know, i think it's because of the incident with asher when he was saying i must like riki, and asking why i care so much about him"
"how would he even know about that y/n?" asher came over aswell, it was almost like you were being cornered by your own friends
jae-sung had always been respectful so he stepped back to give you space
"how would he know? hm?"

"because i told him"
you could immediately tell that asher was mad, just by looking at his face
"you're such a fuc-"
"asher just leave it, you were in the wrong for acting like y/n can't have friends outside of this group, just because she speaks to somebody doesn't mean she likes them does it?"
you walked off with jae-sung, not wanting to be anywhere near asher at the moment, arguments always made you anxious, and jae-sung could tell you were anxious, so he started trying to distract you by talking about music
"but honestly y/n, i think you should stay away from riki, he hates me asher and noah, i mean we haven't even spoken to him, well i did briefly in english, but he's got nothing to hate us for"
oh my god, they just couldn't leave it alone that you and riki were basically friends, you hadn't even picked up on riki "hating" your friends, so it didn't really matter

"yeah well i haven't noticed him doing anything weird that would suggest he hates you, it's probably just in your head, because i'm finally friends with someone who isn't in our group"

"y/n, seriously you have to listen to me, i think he's going to try and take you from the group"
"whatever you think, jae-sung" you rolled your eyes and walked away from him, towards the back of the line of kids going to the sports hall

you saw riki there and immediately went to him and started talking to him
"honestly, jae-sung keeps saying that i shouldn't be your friend, because apparently you're trying to take me away from my friends"
"oh yeah, i heard him saying that" riki rolled his eyes and looked back at you "i'm not, you're literally just the only nice person i've met so far, i don't dislike them for no reason"
"how come you don't like them?"
"well, it's asher that i hate, because of how controlling and weird he is"
"true i guess, he was trying to argue with me just now"
"dickhead"
you nodded and walked to the sports hall with him, dreading what was about to happen
PE in the same group as the new boy
