Have faith in me

Just as predicted, after I had finished my geography assignment. I grabbed my phone and tuned on Spotify, searching for the titled song that had stuck in mind with no sign of leaving anytime soon.

I plugged in my buds and threw myself on the bed. It was summer, there was no need for hot blankets.

Holy father, we need to talk...

I paused the song, and stared at the screen. If this wasn't a prank I sure as hell was dumb. The new boy was just making fun of me. This song was gospel themed after all.

I turned off my screen, taking out the buds and placed my phone and them on my bedside, a little pissed at myself for falling for his trick.

School had been school, but it was time to go back home. Today we were having evening Bible study sessions, I had to look the part.

I started back home, only to be rudely interrupted by a motorcycle.

“Leeroy...wassup, want a ride?” the new boy asked.

“ uhhhh No... But thank you for asking.” I said.

I grabbed the belts that hung loosely from my backpack and walked a little faster. Glad that the new ...maybe I had to stop calling him that, how about Grey...yeah Grey was a lot better. Glad that Grey had chosen to get the hint and leave me alone.

“Hey ! Leeroy...what's the rush buddy. Can I atleast walk you home?” he said as he fell instep with me.

Damn you stupid legs!

“Sure...why not.” I said sarcastically.

“Great!  Did you end up listening to that song, did you love it?I hope you did. Sam Smith really outdid himself on that one.” Grey said, lightly smiling at me.

“You should loosen up a little Leeroy, I don't bite you know ...” he winked at me, before taking a right turn.

Leaving me stunned and a little flustered.
