We need to talk

“Leeroy... Leeroy!” my mother whispered, her voice firm.

“uhhhh yes. ..uhmmm and so the verse goes.” I muttered, plastering a smile on my face.

...

After the Bible study sessions, mother and I were left to clean up. Washing the dishes and clearing up the chairs used.

“You were a little distracted today Leeroy, did anything happen to you ...at school maybe?” mom pried.

A blush threatened to creep up my neck but I shook my head in denial.

“ Nope ... nothing at all mother, I was just thinking of the science quiz coming up tomorrow.”

“uhhhhh sweety, you must be stressed, don't worry yourself. You are a good boy. The best of the best ... I'm sure you will nail it. You know what you want, unlike some children willing to throw their future under the bus...” she said, placing the last dish and turning towards me to give me a hug.

She's my mother, of course I hugged her!

I pulled out, and hurried up to my room. It was one of the few places I was able to express myself.

I threw myself on the bed, groaning into the pillow. Today had been one hell of a mess. I needed to pray, maybe I was starting to wander of to the not so greener pastures.

As I was going down on my knees, my phone pinged, a message popping up on the screen.

I'll pray later, besides... God deserves my undivided attention.

I took my phone and read the message

Hey Leeroy....
It's me Hunter
The guy who just
Can't seem to get you
Off his goddamn mind!

I'm sorry if that scared you
It's just ....I'm a pretty honest guy
And this is me being honest
Would you mind
I think I want to see you
Only for tonight
Atleast before this blows
Up in my face.

I stared at the screen.

Shocked, would be an understatement.
