"What do you mean What?" Isabella mocked.
"That was a very boring conversation. You guys made it really hard to eavesdrop." He laughed.
"You were spying on us!" Isabella hit his shoulder. "Wait so you snapped the twig?" He nodded. "How did I not see you?" He shrugged.
Isabella rolled her eyes and started walking away. "Well if that's it, I'll be on my way."
"Wait," he said, "I um, I'm actually not sure. I just wanted to ask you a question I guess."
"Ask away, Potter."
"Do you remember last night when we got out of the carriage and you were walking in front of us and we locked eyes and you cast a spell over yourself. What was that spell?"
Isabella recalled that and tried to think up an excuse. "Um, yes, well...I was making sure I smelled nice before I was forced into a room with a bunch of judgmental teenagers."
James seemed to accept this answer and started walking towards the castle. Isabella ran to catch up.
"So," she swayed back and forth as she walked. "Why were you spying on us?"
"Thought you'd have an interesting conversation. You're an interesting group of people."
"How so?" Well first there's Pandora. Love her but she's her own person, you understand. Then Sirius' little brother, Regulus. And finally you. I am not gonna lie, I did not remember you went here. But suddenly you've been thrown into my view and I think it's fate."
"Fate for what?"
"Us!" his eyes lit up. "I think we're destined to become friends."
"And I think we're destined to not be." Isabella laughed.
"Come on Isabella," he smirked as he said her name. " I know you can feel the friendship sparks too."
"It's Campbell to you." she shoved past him and went inside.
"You didn't deny the sparks!" He yelled after her, turning heads.
Isabella found Regulus sitting in a tree in a courtyard, Pandora nowhere in sight. She climbed up to him and sat down.
"Where's Dora?" She asked, opening her book.
"Xenophilius told her he found some Nargles or whatever and they ran off together." He laughed.
"Nargles?" Isabella closed her book and looked up confused. "Is that a new one?"
"No, he found Nargles last year, but i'm pretty sure they're invisible."
"How interesting."
They leaned on each other, opening their books, reading.
The next day Regulus, Pandora, and Isabella were eating breakfast when a body sat next to Isabella. They all looked up to see and grinning James Potter.
"What in godric's name do you want?" Isabella rolled her eyes.
"Just wanted to sit and get to know by new friend's other friends."
Regulus raised his eyebrow at Isabella as Pandora just returned to slowly buttering her toast.
"We decided we are destined to become friends." James explained to the others.
"Who's we?" Isabella laughed.
"Just pretend nothing new is happening, go on with your daily routines." He motioned towards the table.
"Well, Iz was just about to share her morning joke." Regulus narrated for James.
"Morning joke?" James looked at her surprised.
"Every night I try to think of a joke so I can tell it at breakfast. That way everyone has a good start to their day."
"Tell it!" James turned to her in anticipation.
"Okay, today;s joke is a knock knock joke."
"What's that?' James asked.
"Iz will say knock knock and we say who's there then she'll say and word and we say the word who and then she tells the punch line." Regulus explained.
"Knock knock" Isabella smirked.
"Who's there?" The three asked.
"Banana"
"Banana who?"
"Knock, knock."
"Who's there?"
"Banana."
"Banana who?"
"Knock, knock."
"Who's there?" Regulus groaned as they repeated again.
"Orange."
"Orange who?"
"Orange you glad I didn't say banana?" Isabella smirked and then started dying of laughter along with James.
"That wasn't even funny." Regulus said as he tried to hold his laughter back.
"Hey Prongs." They hear Sirius from behind. "We're heading to class. Come on."
"Okay! Oh, hey, Isabella, wanna tag along?"
"Again, it's Campbell to you and sure, as long as Lupin will be there. He's the only tolerable one of you four."
James dramatically gasped and put his hand on his chest. "I am highly offended by that."
"I will see you guys at lunch." Isabella said to Regulus and Pandora before leaving.
