Hours had passed, and Lainey and the boys had already had a few drinks. It was almost 7:00, and the party was scheduled to start in an hour.

Bill had sent a message to everyone in his phone, and everyone at their high school was always down to go to a Kaulitz party.

"Lelaina, slow down," Tom said, grabbing the bottle of vodka that Lainey had in her hands.

"Why?" Lainey asked with a small hiccup.

"You're a lightweight," Tom chuckled.

"Yeah, Lainey, you can't get drunk before the party even starts," Bill said.

"I have to pee," Lainey said, getting up and going to the bathroom.

"Why do you always call her by her real name?" Bill asked once Lainey exited the kitchen.

"It's prettier, it fits her better," Tom said with a shrug.

"I think you like her," Bill said, pointing to a photo of them sleeping.

"No," Tom said.

"Yes," Bill retorted.

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Yes."

"Shut up," Tom said, ending the argument.

"I know you, Tom, I'm not stupid," Bill said, raising his eyebrows.

"Whatever," Tom said.

At around 8:30, everyone began strolling in, late as teenagers typically are.

"I want a white russian," Lainey said.

"A what?" Tom asked, furrowing his brows.

"The drink, it's called a white russian," Lainey said, "it's half-and-half, Kahlua, and vodka."

Tom relaxed his eyebrows and let out a laugh.

"You and your stupid American drinks," Tom chuckled.

"Damn, girl, you've been drinking a lot tonight," a girl said.

"How'd you know?" Lainey asked.

"I've been watching you down all of those drinks," she said.

"Creepy," Lainey said, widening her eyes.

"I'm Klara," she said.

"Cool," Lainey said nonchalantly.

Tom laughed. "Her name is Lelaina," he said.

"Thanks," Klara said to Tom, slightly batting her eyelashes.

"You go to Heinz Brandt?" Tom asked, leaning on the counter.

"Yeah, I've been going since last year," Klara said, leaning forward provocatively.

"What year are you in?" Tom questioned as he looked down at her.

"I'm a third year," she replied.

Lainey rolled her eyes as she watched Klara flirt with Tom. Did she really believe she was cute, sitting there batting her eyes at him like an idiot? Lainey was super annoyed. Why would Tom want to mess with a junior? He was a senior. There was no reason for him to be so flirty with a junior, especially one that wasn't that cute.

Ugh, I need to get over him, Lainey thought as she hopped off of the barstool and walked away.

Tom instantly looked away from Klara and watched Lainey as she sauntered away.
