Nya yawned loudly as she rolled over and stretched, lazily scratching at her belly. Everything felt warm and soft, like she was floating on a cloud of warm contentment.

Cool air stung her face with every breath, but it didn't bother her – instead it seemed to be soothing and relaxing. The feeling only intensified when Jay wrapped his tail around her waist again. He had been doing this all morning long, keeping her close with gentle caresses that sent tingling shivers up and down her spine whenever they brushed against sensitive areas. It made sense why humans were so fond of snakes; their body heat alone made them very desirable bedmates.

Wait a minute.

Nya sat bolt upright, realizing this wasn't her bed and she wasn't in her room. She was in the living room on the couch, and for some reason, there was a giant snake, er— snake-man, creature...thing —trying to curl around her.

She did the only rational, logical thing she could think of: she screamed. Her voice echoed off every wall in the Bounty until someone came running onto the room.

"Nya's up!" Kai shouted to the others.

"Kai," she whisper-hissed, pointing to the long green scaly appendage that was wrapped around her, "There is a Serpentine on the Bounty! Do something!"

Instead of jumping into action, Kai rubbed the back of his head.

"Yeah, well about that," he started.

"Kai! Do something!"

"That's not Serpentine," Kai stated flatly, "That's Jay."

"What?"

"Yeah, I don't know either, but last night Jay woke up screaming in his top bunk, then started convulsing and then turned into that thing," he said, pointing to the sleeping snake-man on the couch. "It was like watching something out of a horror movie. Then he burst into your room and settled both of you on the couch in this, nest thingy, I guess."

Nya stared at her brother, dumbfounded.

"We tried to pry him off but he kept hissing at us and then he bit Zane. Those teeth of his are sharp so watch out. The amazing part was that you didn't wake up, not even once. Master Wu said to leave him be, so that's how you got into the couch."

Nya shook her head, trying to make sense of what happened. How could she have slept through an entire transformation? Was she dreaming? Had she gone crazy or something? Maybe, subconsciously, she just hadn't wanted to see it happen because she knew she would freak out. That thought helped calm her nerves somewhat. At least she wasn't the one who freaked out first. But still, how did she sleep through the whole thing?

"Well," she asked slowly, "what do we do now?"

Her brother shrugged helplessly.

"I dunno. What do you want me to do? He won't let you go."

The other members of the team wandered into the living area, curious about the commotion. They stopped dead in their tracks upon seeing Jay curled around Nya.

Zane stepped forward cautiously, examining the serpentine form before looking back at Kai.

"You're sure it's not Serpentine?" he whispered.
