Tanjiro, Raya and Yoriichi have been hiking on the mountain for about two days now. They were finally about to reach the location for their training.

Tanjiro: Yoriichi-Sensei, can you tell me more about the breath of the sun?

Yoriichi: Sure. The breath of the sun is the first breathing style I invented. I tried to train it to other swordsmen, but they couldn't handle the power of the breathing. Yet, your clan managed to do it.

Tanjiro: Huh? How did we managed to perform the breathing style?

Yoriichi: The Hinokami Kagura. Your family has been performing it as a traditional dance to the gods for prosperity. It was actually the breath of the sun that you were performing. Sumiyoshi disguised what it really was to keep Muzn from finding out. Unfortunately, he did eventually find your family...

Tanjiro looked down in sorrow before his sister started yawning. He then smiled and rocked her to make her go to sleep. They then went to a forest where they find a small house, a wisteria tree, and a beautiful waterfall. The place had luscious green grass and was absolutely stunning.

Yoriichi: We are here. This is the place I trained many Demon Slayers that wish to learn the breath of the sun. Though none of them succeeded. This was also the place my wife loved to go to until....nevermind. There's no need to hear the sorrow of a man who's only purpose is to train you.

Tanjiro looked at Yoriichi who was in tears, possibly because the memory of his wife. He was saddened at this as this meant he also lost his family. And since he was a demon slayer, he can connect the dots and say that his wife died to a demon. The three of them entered the house and Tanjiro saw that it had weights, red nichirin blades, and red haoris similar to Yoriichi's. Yoriichi then prepared a futon with some wooden railings around it to make a makeshift crib. He then laid Raya there where she slept peacefully. The two then went out of the house to start their training.

Yoriichi: I shall warn you now Tanjiro. Even if you know the breathing style and can use it. The effects of it will still hinder you until you can get used to it. We will train for three years and then I shall let you partake on the final selection.

Tanjiro: Hai!

And with that, the training had began.

Tanjiro a few days into his training Yoriichi was sparring with Tanjiro. In just a single second he swiftly defeated his trainee. He sighed and then made Tanjiro pull a boulder thirty feet tall.

Yoriichi: You will need to train your physical strength to your max potential. So if you are to pull this boulder until it moves atleast an inch.

Tanjiro: H-Hai.....

He then grabbed the ropes that were tied on the boulder and started pulling. For two weeks he has been trying to pull the boulder. Yoriichi does give Tanjiro time to rest though, but when the training continued he made him pull the boulder again until.... The boulder began moving. 

Tanjiro: Ahhhhh!!!!

Tanjiro with all his strength moved the boulder about five inches. Yoriichi smiles and patted the young boy's success. Tanjiro was extremely exhausted so he did what anyone would after that. Pass out cold.

After the boulder pulling he then made Tanjiro do breathing exercises. When he noticed he messed up he used a breathing of sun breathing using a branch (note: Something Tanjiro will do later on).
