A Legendary Slayer's Successor! The Rewrite!

The First Mission

Tanjiro was currently walking away from the butterfly estate. When he reached the exit, he took a deep breath.

Tanjiro: This is my first mission. I better get there fast then.

Tanjiro then began to sprint.

Tanjiro: Total concentration breathing.....

Tanjiro began running faster and faster. He kept going faster until a flame spiral engulfed him and he ran at blazing speeds and left a trail of flames behind him.

Tanjiro: I promise Yoriichi-Sensei. I will become a great demon slayer, and defeat Muzan Kibutsuji.

This was the night, where he would slay his first demons as an official member of the Demon Slayer Corps. And the night that begins the journey to finding the demon king.

A young couple were having a stroll out late. The night shinee with the moon in full as the couple didn't know the danger out this dark.

The woman: Are you sure we should be out this late at night, Kazumi-Kun? You know that young woman have been disappearing recently.

Kazumi: It's fine, Satoko. If someone does try to take you, I'll show them to not mess with my love. You have nothing to worry about.

The woman now knowned as Satoko sighed and frowned.

Satoko: I just have a bad feeling....

The two of them resumed their walk and it seemed like nothing was out of the ordinary...... That was until, it happened. A hole appeared in the ground and a demon bursted out and dragged Satoko by the legs and began to pull her down.

Satoko: W-What the?! Kazumi! Help!

Kazumi turned to see his lover being dragged to a hole by a monstrous being.

Kazumi: Satoko-San!

Kazumi struggled to pull his lover out from the demon's grasp. Satoko was nearing the hole every second. She closed her eyes with tears coming out thinking that this is the end for her.....until a spiral of flames appeared and slashed the demons arms. Satoko was then pulled back to Kazumi. 

She turned to see the one who saved her as a young man with long red hair tied into a ponytail. He wore a red haori and wielded a katana that was black and had a red edge. He appeared to have a mark on his fore head that resembled flames. He then sheathed his blade and walked towards the couple.

Tanjiro: Are you both alright?

His voice was very soft. It was nothing they expected from someone who just slashed off the arms of something they'd consider a monster.

Satoko: W-Who are you?!

Tanjiro: You don't have to be afraid. I'm Tanjiro Kamado. A demon slayer sent here to eradicate a demon that's been lurking around the town. It appears I've arrived just in time. I fear that you might've been devoured if I had not shown up.

Kazumi: D-Devoured?! You mean to tell me that the thing that was dragging Satoko to that hole was going to eat her?!

Tanjiro: Demons feed on human flesh. The more they eat, the stronger they get. It seems this one also has a blood demon art.... I suggest you stay close to me. Demons aren't able to die unless I slash off their head.

The two then got behind Tanjiro as he tried to locate the demons. He then smelt a scent from his right. He unsheathed his nichirin and began to prepare his attack.
