Friday 2017.12.14

-Author's POV-

It was Friday morning. It was snowing lightly and Joohyun was at the library working during the holidays to help her parents with chores. The bookstore was located on a large street with other shops. All the shops and street lights were decorated with lights and snowmen made by small children surrounded the streets. The bookstore was a small business but they were very busy since they were the only ones. Inside it was decorated with lights, garlands and a small but cute Christmas tree. Mrs. Lee (Joohyun's mom) was always at the cash register to serve customers, Sun-Hi (Joohyun's older sister), Min (Joohyun's younger sister) and Joohyun helped with many things.

Such as helping customers to find the book they want, putting back the books left by their previous readers and cleaning the space. Mr. Lee was responsible to deliver books to other people's homes or shop stuff for their store and home. Do-yoon (Joohyun's older brother) usually didn't have time to be at the shop because he studies, but since it was the holidays he had a lot more time to help.

And since you came here for Joohyun, -and not me- I will tell you some things about her. She is 19 years old and she was born in Icheon-si city, South Korea. She wants to be a writer because she has huge imagination since she was little. But she has a lot of talent in singing but she doesn't want to admit it. Her family tells her all the time that she can be a singer, but she doesn't listen to them because she's too shy and she doesn't like public speaking. Anyways, This Christmas she wants to save enough money to be able to start university, but things aren't too easy because her family has to pay for her brother's school and pay the house and library rent.

But enough of me talking to you... Let's start the story~

-Joohyun's POV-

-How many more books do I still have to put in their place? Why do all our customers have to be tall? I'm tired of being on my toes all the time... I thought but suddenly heard a scream 

"Joohyun!! Joohyun!! Come on quick!" my dad yelled at me 

It was so sudden that it scared me and a book fell from my hand. I picked it up, put it in the cart and I rushed to him. "What happened?" I asked him because I was worried.

"Your chocolate will get cold!" he told me and offered me a hot chocolate. I glared at him and blew out.

"Can you stop screaming like that when it's about something like this?" I told him and took the chocolate from his hands.

"I didn't want it to get cold! Because it doesn't taste good like that..." he told me with a sad face and sat in the cashier's chair.

"Where is mom?" I asked him and sat next to him on a stool.

"She's helping a customer... didn't you notice her?" he asked me with a blasé tone and took a sip from his chocolate.

"No... I was putting some books away" I replied and I knew he was going to mention my headphones right away. 

"You listen to loud music all the time and you don't understand what's going on around you..." he started to say but I cut him off because I knew he wouldn't stop talking about it since he brings it up all the time... 

"Now I wasn't listening to music and that's why I heard you yelling at me like crazy!" I told him and took a sip from my chocolate. 

"I called you because I thought you were wearing headphones... good then..." he said and just then my little sister Min arrived from school. Yes, she still has school because she is in high school.
