You weren't sure why or how you began having these dreams. Be it magic or cosmic destiny you just knew something drew you to Katsuki. He was unapproachable, intimidating, cocky, but you knew all too well the kindness and loyalty he held tight to his chest.

Since that night, you stopped having dreams of him. You worried if you pushed him away for good. You naively thought he was a nomad all this time, or maybe you knew all along but couldn't work past your prejudice to realize King Bakugou was not the tyrant everyone made him out to be. You sighed in shame, you were no different than the unfeeling nobles that looked down on him.

The feeling of cool garnet pressed against your chest. You couldn't bear to give up on the thought of Katsuki, secretly wearing his necklace hidden under your gown.

You sighed as your handmaiden Ochako put the finishing touches on your hair. You wore your hair down, with silk ribbons interwoven in little braids throughout.

"It's normal to be nervous, y/n. Don't fret, you'll be the most beautiful person at the ball, it is in your honour after all," she giggled, only daring to address you without your title when you two were alone.

You braved a smile, "Thanks Ochako... say could I ask you for some advice?"

The petite brunette was caught off guard, "If it's something I could help you with," she tilted her head in curiosity.

"So let's say your entire life is set out for you, it's certainly not good but at least you know... then you could take a risk and throw everything you've known away, your life could be better but it could also be terribly worse as well," you contemplated deep in thought.

Ochako furrowed her brow, "I'm not sure if I follow, but if it were me I would take the risk! It's as you said, you already know the path set out is bad, at least with the risk it would be my choice."

"My choice huh? Thanks Ochako!" You reached around to hug your precious friend, she graciously hugged you back, cherishing the little moments where you could just be two girls and not princess and handmaiden.

You stood at the top of the steps of the grand staircase in the centre of your castle's ballroom. Crown moulded wallpaper, the finest silk curtains, and glistening jewelled chandeliers hung from above, the cascading light creating a glitter-like effect across the ball room. However in the beautiful atmosphere, you stood out, fidgeting with your fingers, you nervously awaited for your cue to descend.

The feeling of dread spread throughout your entire body, as you glanced down at all the glamorously dressed nobles mingling in the ballroom. You couldn't miss the number of high-born bachelors attending and clenched your teeth as you knew this was your last chance of freedom before King Enji sold you off to be wedded.

As if to put you out of your misery, the trumpets blared and you faintly heard the squire announce, "Princess y/n has arrived!"

You stood up straight and cautiously walked down the stairs towards the centre where your father was waiting, the anxiety in the pit of your stomach growing stronger by the step. You couldn't stand the feeling of everyone's stares at you, especially the predatory stares from the men. Even in their eyes you were no more than a show pony.

King Enji grabbed your shoulder and pushed you towards the two men he had been conversing with. "Daughter, I would like you to meet King Yagi and Sir Midoriya."

You curtseyed, "Prince y/n, it is a pleasure to meet you."

King Yagi and his kingdom had been known for his military might, a large muscular man in his youth, but had now grown remarkably weaker, still quite tall but very slender. He had no children which is why it had been declared that the green-haired Sir Midoriya would be named his heir presumptive.
