Chapter 5- Chaos Control

Driving down the streets of the small town was the two friends who had been friends since prison. It was surprising that any of them would have a car, let alone Knuckles, whom the car belonged to.

"Are you sure you don't know where he is?" Amy's voice echoed over the phone.

"Yeah, sorry Amy. Haven't seen him since lunch." Knuckles said.

"Well, let me know if you see him. It's not that I'm worried about him. He's just... up and left, you know?"

"Yeah. Don't worry, we'll call if he's around. See you, Amy." And he hung up the call. He sighed. "Amy's right, though. Weird for Sonic to just up and leave like that."

"Is it?" Tails said. "He's disappeared out of nowhere before."

"Yeah, you're right. Still, I can't help but think about that stuff Silver has been saying."

"Yeah. I know that anything can happen in the future, but would Sonic really do something like that?"

"Let's just hope that it never happens."

"And let's hope that Silver is not giving Shadow a hard time at G. U. N."

Knuckles laughed. "I think Shadow is the one to- huh?" He nearly screeched to a halt in the middle of the roadway. Standing there was none other than Sonic himself. He poked his head out the window of the car. "Hey Sonic! Bout time you showed your face!"

Sonic looked down at them, unmoving from his spot. A shadow casted in front of him that made it hard to see his face. He stayed silent as his eyes were fixated on them, they seemed almost like they were glowing.

"Uh, hellooo? You gonna say anything?"

Tails' ears instinctively pinned back, he knew something was wrong. "Knuckles..."

"Yeah, what? What's-"

WHAM

The car was sent flying down the empty roadway. It spun and tumbled across the asphalt multiple times till it slowly didn't have enough force to keep moving. At the end the echidna and fox slowly crawled out of the wreckage. The car was pretty much totaled at this point, as a huge dent was created in its right bumper, though, other than the windshield being shattered and the initial tumble, there was no further damage. What had caused it? None other than a giant hedgehogs giant foot.

"Ugh, what the hell, man?!" Knuckles shouted, clutching his still spinning head. "I just bought that car!"

There was no further reaction from Sonic. He only stared at them as knuckles walked closer and Tails stayed by the wrecked car.

"What is up with you, man? Why aren't you saying any thing?"

"Knuckles! I think you should move away from him!" Tails said.

"Why? Cause he's being a jerk? He wrecked my car!"

"You can get a new car, Knuckles! I just think you need to- MOVE!"

"What?" A foot slammed down onto the red echidna with a force of a small truck. Luckily, it didn't crush him, as knuckles held the foot up with all the strength he could muster. Sonic continued to put more weight down on it, as Knuckles groaned and cried as he tried to keep his foot off of the ground. There was no reaction coming from the hedgehog.

"SONIC! STOP! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Tails yelled. But there was nothing coming from Sonic. Just a cold empty stare as he tried to put more force down. Tails knew that Knuckles could handle himself, but he couldn't hold up Sonic's foot forever. He grabbed a rock from the pavement and chucked it to the giant hedgehog.
