Stay Ready ~ Fezco

 "I'm gonna go to the store to get a drink and some snacks, Do you guy's want anything?" I asked the girls. They all nodded their heads except Maddy. "Yeah could you bring me some gum but mint this time. Nate got me fruit flavored gum last time and it tasted like shit." I chuckled. "Alright noted, i'll be back." I grabbed my sweater and put in my AirPods. I played Champagne Coast by Blood Orange. I headed out the Howard house and began walking. On my way to the store I heard Siri read me a notification that Rue posted on her Instagram after being inactive for a while. I knew Rue was away at rehab. Word spread quickly that she OD'd and Gia found her in her room.

 Rue and I practically grew up together. Leslie and my mom met at the hospital since that's where they work and next thing you know they spotted each other again when they were dropping  Rue and I off at school. 

Leslie Is an amazing and caring mom. I know She never had time to fully heal herself after Robert's passing. She did the same thing I did when it came to keeping busy so the feelings of abandonment and sadness don't come creeping in. She Devoted herself into her work at the hospital and caring for others needs too. She also did the same thing my mom did to me too. She knew Rue and Gia were hurting too over their father's passing and when time passed, she believed they were going to be alright too. Rue began smiling and laughing. She had life radiating all over her,  She believed Rue was better...Until the Overdose and finding out the whole smiling and laughing was the effect of the drugs she was taking. 

I took my phone out as I was reaching the Store and pressed the notification of Rue's Instagram post. It was of her and Fez. I smiled at it and hearted it. As I was walking up I noticed Fez sitting outside the store in his chair. I knew Fez was a dealer since this last time Maddy made me go with her to buy some Molly off of him. I never took anything but I don't Judge those who do. I knew He also supplied Rue those Drugs that made her end up in Rehab in the first place. Again I'm not judging him for that either. As I was walking up he turned his head towards me. "Wassup V. How you doin'?" I smiled. "I'm doing good, How about you?" I paused my music and went up to him. I fist bumped him. "Shit doin' good too can't complain." he replied. I put my AirPods in my case. "That's Good. I just saw Rue post you two on Instagram Is she here?" I asked him. "Nah, she just left a couple minutes ago." "I see, well I came to raid your store for snacks." I said as I turned around and walked inside. I could hear Fez get up from his chair and follow me inside. "Ion like that word used around me Vic. Shit make me have nightmares." We both chuckled. "I'm sorry I promise I won't use that word around you." he looked at me with a small smile. 

I walked around and grabbed the snacks I wanted and remembered Maddy's gum. As I was going up to the counter I pulled out some cash from my pocket when I seen Fez shaking his head. "Nah you know what's good, it's on the house." I looked at him seriously. "Fez, You're too kind but no business is business I'm not like that." I said while handing him the 20 dollar bill. "Nah Ma, I told you it's on the house." My cheeks started heating up. I smiled. "Fez please, I can't do that to you." I looked at him with pleading eyes. He didn't budge. "Fine." I said. I placed the 20 dollar bill on his counter and on top I put a pack of gum to keep it in its place. he smacked his lips. "C'mon V." he said. I chuckled. "Fez, You're really sweet for this but I'd never take from you like that." "Nah V, you too sweet for that, a lot of people don't got it like you do." My cheeks heated up again. "If you paying for this at least let me take you out this weekend." he finished. I looked at him. "I'm down, we could go to in and out and get our usual." I said. 

My bond with Fez was something I really cherished. Fez never confided with most people about his real life struggles and his personal shit. He always kept it either to himself or with Ashtray. I never pushed him to tell me about his life, Somethings about him are still a mystery to me, the most I knew about was his grandma and how she got sick so suddenly and was soon bedridden for the rest of her life.Even through all the trials and tribulations he went through, he still managed to come out of it as a great person with a great heart. That's what I admire about Fezco. 

"Alright then. I'll hit you up but I ain't forgettin' so don't try and Cat out on me." I chuckled. "You know me, I'd never cat on you." I grabbed my snacks. "I'll see you later Fez, be safe closing up and on your way home." "Thanks. You be safe too on your way home." he replied. "Thank you." I walked out of the store and began walking back to the Howard house.
