Y/N's backstory- Y/N has been working at a hospital in LA as a orthopedic surgeon for a few years. She became an attending at only 28 years old, which is very young. She is first cousins with the one and only, Jackson Avery. Her family moved to California when she was 7 to try and get away from the Avery foundation, but to Y/N's surprise, her aunt Catherine reached out to her recently in hopes she would apply for the ortho chief job opening up. Obviously, she accepted her aunts offer and has an interview on Monday with Chief Bailey. (It's currently late Sunday)
Y/N's POV-
As I'm sitting on the plane into Seattle, I anxiously tap my thigh. What if they don't like me?What if Bailey doesn't think I'm the right fit for the job? I think to myself.
"Alright passengers we please ask that you buckle your seatbelts as we are close to landing, thank you" The pilot says over the intercom which makes me even more anxious. I buckle my seatbelt and pull out my phone to let Jackson know I'm landing soon.
Y/N- Hey Jack, pilot says we're landing soon.
Jackson- Alright I'm already on my way to the airport 😊
Before Y/N's family moved, Jackson used to babysit her all the time. At the time, Y/N struggled with words and couldn't correctly pronounce Jackson's name, so she called him Jack, and to no surprise, she still continues to.
Y/N POV-
In what felt like just 5 minutes, the plane had landed and I was getting off. I texted Jackson we had landed and I would meet him at the Dunkin' donuts in the airport in 15 minutes. When I got to the meeting area, a huge smile came over my face as I ran to my cousin and threw myself into his arms hugging him dropping my luggage.
"Jack!! Oh how I have missed you!" I said
"Y/N/N (your nick name) I've missed you too, how've you been?" He said as he grabbed my luggage and we began walking to the exit of the airport.
We walked and talked for what felt like an eternity because he had parked his car so far. I wonder if he parked so far so we could catch up before I practically pass out in the car, because he knows how stressed flying makes me. I knew he was married to a trauma surgeon and had a daughter, but I hadn't met or heard much about either of them. If I get the job, I would love to get to know them when I move. When we got back to Jackson's house he showed me to the guest bedroom and wished me luck for tomorrow. I was very nervous.
