I have come to realise that walking home alone isn't that bad. Yeah there's dodgy alleyways and shit, but not all that bad. Just listen to music on the way home. It drowns the real world out. I messaged Trist as soon as I got home, so he knew I was safe. "Mae can you play with me?" An innocent voice comes from the other side of my bedroom door. "One second Axe" I reply. I turn up at the door and see he's not wearing his nerf goggles or has his nerf gun. "What are we playing then?"
"I don't know," he replies sweetly "mom took my nerf stuff off me after I broke one of her vases, no more monster fighting."
"You broke a vase?"
"Shot it" he shrugs.
"Why?"
"There was a monster there, I had to get rid of it."
"Of course you did" I answer, rolling my eyes "what do you want to do then?"
"Can we get some snacks and build a fort?"
"Best idea I've heard all day"
