Flash forward a little...

As it had turned out, Armins parents allowed him to come over quite a bit, more than you had thought. It came to the point where it was almost unatural for him to not be in your presence, and you missed him when he wasn't there. More than often, Armins parents brought him to your doorstep happily, and your promise was kept above and beyond.

It had been two years since you both met, you were going on ten yourself, and he had recently had his birthday. You were like Siamese twins, it was like you were chained at the wrists, inseparable. From the moment he walked back into your house, neither of you wanted a moment away another. Sometimes, when his parents had too much work he slept over at your house, and those days were your favourite. You liked to pretend that you got to live together.

You told him everything that was on your mind, every secret, every hidden thought, and every emotion you felt. You found a sort of secureness when telling him things, like you knew that whatever you spoke was to be kept under lock and key, and you were right to think so. Everything he said too, you thought was terribly interesting. There was never a dull moment when you were together, and happy.

You both had grown alot, and so did your friendship. You were closer than ever before, since you only had eachother as friends. You never could fathom why he had so little friends, it was almost mind boggiling. He was so sweet, he was such a nice kid, and would never do anything to hurt anyone. Sometimes you would sit there and ponder on the reason for a while, until you gave in and asked him about it. You always received a casual, nonchalantly said answer from his small voice. Something like, "I don't know," or "who can tell?"

He wasn't lying, he didn't know why no one appeared to like him, but Armin wasn't telling the whole truth. He witheld the fact that he was bullied nearly everyday he went to school. Everyday he would get called out, made fun of, or in worse cases, beaten up. He came home with bruises on his body frequently, and as the kids got older and stronger, their egos grew, and so did the amount of unjuries he would recieve on himself. They got more brutal, harsher, and he would have to cover himself up more to conceal them.

He never told you, because he didnt want to upset you.

You can look at the bright side of life, or you can only focus on the shadows it casts. Your perspectives on life choose how you live it, and that's how Armin chose to live, by looking at you.

Now, as you frequently would do, you both sat on the creaking hardwood steps of your front porch, hidden under shade. Today was the day Armin was to tell you, he was going to finally find the courage to confess about being bullied. He fiddled woth his blue T-shirt, trying to find the right words. It was a hot day, the sun beamed down from a cloudless sky, and you both relaxed trying to cool off.

"Hey, um (Y/N)?..." Armin asked.

"Yes?" You replied cheerfully.

"I have something I need to tell you..."

"Well go on, don't be shy?..." You said.

"I um..." He started, almost regretting bringing this up. "I get bullied alot in school. Almost everyday." He said.
His eyes were still averted from your direction, and you struggled finding simething to say. Your voice was getting caught in your throat, you didn't know what to do, you simply had no words to communicate. As an alternative, you sat in silence as you tried to gather yourself. Your eyes still wide, and your body in an stiff manner. You blinked excessively trying to find something to say, but nothing was coming out.

You wanted a to react, but you didn't know what was wrong, and you wished he would look at you. You gripped your knees in odd confusion, and glanced over at him. His face was tense, distraught, his eyebrows down, and he was biting his pursing his lips.
