Flames of Passion: tales of Kai Scott and Emerson Dessert

Chapter two

Emerson and Kai were in line to see what cabin they were in. They had requested to be in the same cabin, even though you're not supposed to. Fortunately, they let them because it's pride month. "Name?" Groaned the lady at the desk. "Kai Scott and Emerson Dessert!" Said Kai chipperly. "Cabin 22. Take two lefts and right then go straight for 20 feet." She handed them a pamphlet, which had a map inside. "Thank you..." muttered Emerson.

They were walking to the cabin in silence. Kai kept looking at Emerson, like he wanted to say something. Emerson hoped it was that Kai liked him back, but Kai never managed to push the words out of his mouth. "So..." said Emerson. "Are you excited?" "Yeah!" Kai Said with a resounding smile. "I can't wait to spend the summer with... my best friend!" Kai looked like he was about to slip. 'Maybe he was going to say crush?' Thought Emerson. He shook it off. There was no way!

"They had finally reached the cabin. As they approached the door, they both reached for the knob. Both hearts skipped a beat. Kai blushed and got all flustered. "Uhm... you.. you go ahead." Emerson smiled. "Ok..!" This was a sure sign that there was hope for Emerkai!

As he opened the door, he looked around the room to realize that, coincidentally, everyone in their cabin was from their school! There four bunks. The first was Ben and Micheal, the second was Daniel and Chance, the third was Gavin and Truman, and the fourth was... empty? They walked over to the bunk and set out their things. Kai and Emerson were chatting when their counselor came in. The room ran silent as he began to speak.

"I am counselor Petey. You will be good. End of speech. Jenga."

Emerson looked at Kai as everyone else started talking, and they both burst into laughter. This was going to be the best summer ever!
