Kim Ri-Ya's POV:
.
"I thought you weren't going to see me anymore," Krystal quipped as she sat down in the same booth I was in, a drink in her hands.
"Who says I'm here to see you?" I shot back easily, eyeing the crowd of people socialising around us, most of them drunk.
I needed to get away from everything for a few hours, and every time I did, I came here. To a little bar on the outskirts of Itaewon, run by Krystal Jung and her older sister, Jessica. It wasn't extravagant and their alcohol was cheap but no one ever thought to look for me here which was often, the only thing I needed.
"You're always here to see me, you said you yourself last year," Krystal teased, poking her nail under my chin, "I'm the ex you can never forget."
I moved my head away, picking up my own glass from the table in front of me, "Not this time. I don't want you this time, I'm just here to drink."
"You say that every time," Krystal shrugged, taking another sip, "yet somehow, we always end up naked in a bed. Funny, isn't it?"
"Don't you have a fiancé now?" I questioned softly, looking over the crowd for someone or something to entertain me.
"He's boring and he's definitely not the person I want," Krystal shuffled closer to me, her hand finding its way to my knee. "You know exactly who I want."
I pushed her hand off, "I told you already, I'm not going to marry you."
"Who said anything about marriage? Just let me come home with you at least," Krystal sulked, slouching in her seat, "I don't want to work here anymore. It's not fun."
"But the money is," I reminded her, "and you love to spend it."
"I can just spend your money instead, you make a lot," Krystal chirped, grabbing my free hand in hers, "can't you even consider it?"
I sighed heavily, shaking her hand off again and standing up, "Live a good life, Soo-Jung. I'm too busy for this."
"So who will you go to instead tonight if not me?" Krystal jumped up, her heels clicking against the cold floor. "Jiu? Or maybe Junho? Sunmi? I can't imagine you're still seeing V, so who?"
"None of your business," I mumbled, starting to head down the steps to the main dance floor.
"You're singlehandedly keepings the Lotus's good relations with everybody going, I don't know if I should be impressed or go get tested."
Krystal had a habit of being a brat when things didn't go her way, she couldn't help it, but even so, it made it hard not to hit her.
"Go work, Soo-Jungie," I mocked softly, "it looks like you might be paying your own bills for a while."
"Yah!"
I didn't have to see it to dodge the shoe she threw at my head; she did it every time.
She was getting too consistent. Too boring. If we met, we had the same talks, the same fights and the same sex. I wanted something new now. I needed something new, someone who could distract me for long enough.
I'd talked to Ma-Ra about calling Yeo-Reom for her birthday or calling her for Christmas or New Year's day. I got the same response I always did. A tut and a sigh before she hit me with the 'you know why we can't do that'. But honestly, I didn't.
Yeo-Reom was with Xia, arguably the fiercest, most skilled fighter the Lotus had ever had. She became the Head of China while Park Min-Ok was still in charge. She'd proved to everyone that even though she was a dirt poor beggar like the rest of us, she was never going to be one of us. She was always going to be better.
