After the hours spent on the crime scene, Catherine along with her colleagues returned to the station, all with the same goal, catching jigsaw.
Catherine was however very worried about Daniel. He looked very upest when they found detective Kerry's body. She knew how close they were and that he will need time to heal from all this. That's why she paid him a visit while he was in the public office.
Knock knock Catherine knocked. "Come in!" Rigg exclaimed softly, giving Catherine premssion to open the door and step inside.
"Hi..." She said walking in, with an awkward smile. Daniel's face lit up when he saw her, he didn't really expect to see her.
"Hey, what's up?" Rigg asked her in a soft, delicate tone. Cath then sat beside him and looked at him directly.
"Nothing much, I just wanted to see how are you holding up. I know Kerry's death upset you very much, just wanted to let you know I'm here for you, we are all." She said, genuinely. Her and Daniel knew each other from high-school and when thye reunited at work, they became really close.
"Thank you, Cathy, it really means a lot." He looked up to her and smiled. She smiled back, still nor taking her gaze off of him.
"No problem... You have vacation time right? I suggest you take it. You know, finish the remodeling, spend some time with Tracy, I'm sure she misses you very much." Catherine suggested, still having that soft expression on her face.
"There's no stopping, especially not now. We need to get this over with and catch him." Daniel's tone dropped when he heard what was this about.
"I know, but you need to rest and heal from this. Do not take it for granted. Maybe it'll be for the
best." Turner continued trying to convince him."I'll see. Maybe it would do me good after all. I still am not one hundred percent sure though." Rigg eventually gave in, making Catherine smile.
"Good. I'm sure you'll make the right decision... I guess I should get going then." She smiled and got up from her seat, turned around and started walking away.
"Cath!" Dan called out to her, making her turn around.
"Yeah?"
"I'm sorry if this seems random, but I think we should keep looking for detective Matthew's." He said out of the bule, completely catching Catherine off guard.
"Why do you think that? Jigsaw never kept anyone alive this long, why would he make an exception for him?" She raised her eyebrows with confusion being drawn on her face.
"It's a little theory of mine... You know, just wanted to tell you that before going to take the vacation time." He said, making Catherine grin, before walking away himself. Just after he left the room, Hoffman appeared.
"What's his problem?" Mark asked taking a sip from his coffee.
"Uh nothing, it's just he's about to take vacation time, I think." Cath replied in a slightly awkward tone.
"Well thank god. I'm pretty tired of putting up with him." Hoffman sat down.
"Why?" She asked, almost offended.
"I don't know it's just... he's been overworking himself lately I guess. And that seems to affect me, and probably everyone here."
"Yeah but can you blame him? I mean, it's a little harsh knowing what he went through." She admitted.
"Right but, keep in mind, we all went though the almost same thing." Mark sat down with coffee in his hands while still having that nonchalant look in his face.
"Mhm... I really need to get going right now. You know, see what the feds are up to." Catherine smiled softly, readying herself to leave.
"Oh, Our precious feds. Good luck with them." Hoffman said ironically, having a smudge smirk on his face.
"Hah, thanks." Catherine chuckled before leaving the room. Minutes later she found herself in a research office with the two agent.
"Detective Turner, we really didn't expect you here. Did something happen?" Lindsey looked at her, almost concernedly.
"Oh no, I'm just here to drop of the most recent file report." She handed the papers to agent strahm who began looking at them immediately.
"Also, are you making any progress yet?" Catherine added to her previous sentence.
"Well we have a few leads, I suppose. We rewatched all the interrogation tapes from all the jigsaws witnesses, including his ex wife." Perez informed.
"Find anything interesting in them?"
"Not yet... Also there's something I think you and the other detectives working on this case should know." Lindsey said making Catherine beyond confused.
"Lindsey no-" Peter tried to interfere.
"Strahm, she has a right to know because her life might be in danger." That sentence made Catherine's blood run cold. The clear distraught could be seem on her face.
"My life could be in danger? What? Can somebody please explain what's going on?" Turner puzzled her face.
"In detective Kerry's last message to us, she said the lives of two more officers could be endangered. We don't know who she meant exactly, but we're working on it." Lindsey explained in a calm tone.
"Wow um, I'm not very sure what to say... Maybe we should keep looking for detective Matthews for that same reason."
"Where's this all coming from? I thought this wasn't about Matthews... Where are you going with this?" Peter turned to Catherine.
"I mean Kerry was the first to believe he is still alive. Maybe she saw something before her death that made her believe that and leave it in her last message." Turner reasoned.
"We don't know that for sure. Also we found her body six days after her disappearance and Eric Matthews has been missing for 6 months. Now why would jigsaw keep him alive for that long?" Strahm opposed.
"I think we're all aware of how unpredictable Jigsaw is... And also he's not confirmed dead so are you really giving up on someones? That wouldn't look so good on your profile, would it?" She raised her eyebrow, looking directly at him.
"No one said were giving up on him! It's just that there are slim chances detective Matthews is still alive, that's all." He cleared the air. That sentence made Catherine a little mad but she kept her cool as much as she could.
"Oh Really? Since when are you the one who decides who's alive and who's not? Since when do you get a say on who should live and who shall not!?" Catherine raised her voice, expressing her anger towards Peter's last sentence.
"That's not what I said-"
"Is that so? Because it sounds to me like you just did"
"Look, detective Turner, i know detective Matthews was your colleague, but I'm just being rational." Strahm said. The truth was, Catherine didn't even care that much about Eric, she was just handling Daniel's request because she knew that was what he would want to do in that situation.
"No, you're being-" Catherine started her sentence but was interrupted was Perez.
"Both of you stop! Let's stay civil. Alright? We're all on the same side and we should argue about these things." Lindsey got in the middle. Both Cath and Peter seemed to calm down to Lindsey proceeded with her "speech"
"Now, detective Turner, we'll see what we can do about detective Matthews and we'll get back to you as soon as we get answers, okay?" She turned her full attention to Catherine.
"Fine." Turner muttered before turning around and walking out of the research office. On her way to her own office she stumbled across Hoffman but she didn't really care as she was angry enough so she just continued walking.
