_________christmas eve

Jeongguk woke up slowly, his doe eyes blinking ever so gently as he yawned deeply, feeling his body move like molasses as he stretched, regaining his strength.

I guess I worked too hard last night. Jeongguk supplied to himself as he blearily glanced outside to the deary, winter wonderland blooming, barely even processing anything as his mind pushed the heavy fog roaming over his head.

He hadn't fallen asleep this hard in so long, it felt refreshing that he slept through any dreams and just simply slept without worry, although it did feel like he slept way longer than he should've.

Jeongguk had originally planned on working on Christmas Eve, seeing as he had no family up here and no one would spend it with him either way, but surprisingly there was no shifts available so Jeongguk enjoyed sleeping in and snuggling into his clean sheets, shivering at the sight twingle of frosty cold air coming from underneath the doors.

In this blissful daze of sleeping and waking up, Jeongguk let his body fully relax and recover from such a long semester so far. Although it had been long, and so new, as this was his first semester of college, Jeongguk was glad it was done and he could have a small break before his classes again started in January.

His grades had been exceptionally good, to Jeongguk's relief, so he wouldn't have to worry about his parents calling and dragging his ass down. Speaking of his parents, they never called or checked up on him like his Aunt Aei did, Jeongguk was not expecting to even hear a Christmas invite from them to come over.

It wasn't a joyful holiday that they all spent together, it really was just more of a day for Jeongguk. He had enjoyed the wonderful holiday until his parents couldn't afford or even remembered to buy him gifts.

It's fIt's fine, I don't need their stinkin' gifts. Jeongguk grumbled in his head, sighing as he brought his hands to curl underneath his chin. His rant though, however, reminded him he still had to buy gifts for Jiwon and a few friends from dance class. Today would be the worst day to do it, but Jeongguk had nothing better to do and he wouldn't have to give them these gifts until the end of the week when they would do their dance class winter party.

Deciding he should get up to get his day going, Jeongguk groaned and gingerly sat up, rubbing his eyes as he embraced the cold morning. It looked very gray and dreary outside, meaning it was positively colder than normal so Jeongguk picked a long sleeve shirt, padded sweats and his worn leather coat.

He could use some gloves, but he didn't have any presently. He would have to buy some on the way to the mall, or else his hands would freeze up.

After slipping on his clothes, Jeongguk headed towards the bathroom, freshening up with his daily routine and fixing his hair. Once out of the bathroom, Jeongguk was able to see Taehyung in the kitchen, on his phone while he heated up some kind of drink.

"Good afternoon, Taehyung." Jeongguk spoke up warmly, about to say 'good morning' when he remembered he woke up at noon, the longest he's slept in since he was in highschool.

Taehyung glanced up from his phone, smiling gently. "Good afternoon, Jeongguk."

Jeongguk browsed through the fridge and cabinets, trying to find something delectable to eat. "What are you brewin'?"

"Raspberry tea," Taehyung replied, pouring the crisp, red liquid into his yellow mug. "Want some? It's great for this cold weather."

"Sure, thank you!" Jeongguk said cheerfully, about to pour the tea himself but Taehyung grabbed his cup and poured it for him without any thought, giving it back to him with a gentle smile.
