Jeno is sick (Present)

Noon is coming, as the sun rises brightly this Saturday.

Karina woke up from her long sleep pretty late since today is her day off. She was so busy for a few days after the kindergarten where she work was celebrating their anniversary. As one of the young teachers there, of course Karina had to be active together with her young teacher friends.

Karina chose to spend this weekend to take a rest and Jeno agreed to not having a weekend date just like usual. She was about to go back to sleep again knowing it is still 11 am in the morning to noon, before she saw something on her phone notification.

It was a text from Mark Lee, Jeno's biological big brother, saying Jeno is sick after the rain poured on him after work.

The blonde girl ran to the bathroom. She did quick showering as long as she brushed her teeth and no body odour smelled. After twenty minutes, Karina locked her apartment to go to Jeno's room. She is really worried because Jeno is allergic to cold and it might get worse knowing the cause of his sickness is a lot of water covering him and cold allergic.

"Jeno?"

Karina called his boyfriend's name softly, afraid she might wake him up. She just gets inside Jeno's apartment, before walking further to the living room, checking if Jeno rests himself on the sofa. Then she saw no one.

Knowing Jeno is not in the living room, Karina knocked Jeno's room door in small knocks. Hearing no answer, Karina slowly opened the door and saw Jeno was covered by his thick blanket. A fever patch stuck to his forehead, lips pale with eyes closed, nose red.

Karina carefully led her way to Jeno's bed. Avoid making noises so Jeno won't be disturbed.

"Love?" Jeno murmured in his deep voice, sounds so tired. Karina just stays silent, her palm still making sure about Jeno's body temperature.

Karina wipes the sweats on Jeno's face and neck using the dry towel. "I'm here, are you feeling hurt anywhere? I heard from Mark oppa* you get sick because you didn't bring your umbrella when he picked you u?

*oppa: older brother (younger sister to older brother)

Jeno shakes his head. " That's true, that's my bad I'm sorry. I'm not hurt anywhere butmy throat hurts a little bit and the flu is getting worse."

Karina puts a hairpin on Jeno's bangs so it won't cover his forehead. "I want to be angry because you are forgetful for not bringing your umbrella, but what can I do now seeing you sick already. Have you eaten your meals yet? The medicine?"

"I ate the hot cream soup and drank my medicine already, Mark hyung* helped me." Karina sighed in relief. Jeno is used to eating his mom's cream soup whenever he is sick, and Karina always asks Jeno's mom to send them the food because Jeno will protest knowing it was not his mom's cooking.

*hyung: older brother (younger brother to older brother)

Karina took the fever patch off Jeno's forehead, and changed it to a warm towel. She also fixed Jeno's pillow so the flu won't really block Jeno's respiratory or breathing through his nose. Karina's hands wiping Jeno's sweat around his face and neck, sometimes switching to massaging Jeno's hands.

Jeno slowly feels relaxed at the thoughts of Karina's presence. Karina always taking good care of him when his family was not able to come and that's one of the reasons why his parents really loved Karina to the point they treated Karina like their own daughter.

Knowing how tired Karina is from her busy schedules, Jeno is being thankful to himself today for not being clingy and annoying. Usually, Jeno gets so annoyingly clingy when sick and only his family can bear with it.

At first, Jeno was wondering if Karina could stand him being like that when sick, before Jeno really got sick for the first time in front of Karina. She really took good care of him and he can't be more thankful for having her around.

Jeno watches Karina through his sleepy eyes. He can see Karina is still worried about him, making him feel content and warm at the same time. Jeno pulled both of Karina's hands, kissing them gently with his pale, warm lips.

"I will be fine, love. Come let's sleep together. I know you are tired." said Jeno as he pat the empty space beside him. Karina just nodded slightly, fixing her long pyjamas before laying down on the same bed with Jeno.

Karina scoffed slightly, as she scooted closer to Jeno's embrace. She can feel Jeno's strong hands wrapped around her body. "I might get sick from you."

Jeno laughed slowly after hearing it. "Don't worry, I will take good care of you."

"Okay, you promise?"

"I promise."

Karina pulled the thick blanket to cover both of them, as soon as she set the room temperature to make Jeno feel comfortable. They hug each other in safe space, cuddle under the warm blanket until they fall asleep in each other's arms.
