I never quite explained well enough what actually happened to my dear friend Christine that caused her to leave the mansion. It pains me just to think about it, but always new that someday I'd have to think about it, and today is that day.
A short while after we'd had our last conversation concerning the stars, she had been called away to care for her sick father. Soon after, however, the man passed, and she was left with her mother and four little sisters who could not fend for themselves. They were all sent to a nearby factory, instead, and Christine with them to govern them.
I cannot imagine free-spirited Christine in a horrible factory. Yes, the cavernous mansion was like a jail, but that death separated best friends. Not to mention that her dear father passed, leaving sadness and poverty for the family of 5 young girls and a struggling mother.
I cannot wait to see her again. If all goes as planned, the day will be soon.
