The weekend finally rolled around.
I sat at my desk, my coffee cooling, in my own world, doing my art piece, putting the finishing touches of ghost's whiskers before my phone vibrated in my pocket.
A message from Aimee. I had been added into a group chat.
'Smells Like Team Spirit'
'Hey, since it's a nice day, I figured we could all hang out somewhere. Idk where, make plans with me.' - Aimee
'Could I bring scar? Ha, I love the name, just noticed it.'- Link
'Why have I been added?'- Jackson put a thinking face next to the message he sent.
'You're part of this group now. and yes, link you can bring scar. Leaving is strictly prohibited. Jk.' - Aimee
'Alright. I'll be down for some hanging out.' - Jackson
'Mary, I see you reading these messages. Question goes for you too.' - Aimee added some eye emojis to say she was watching me read the messages and it reply.
I could only laugh. That was such an Aimee thing to do. I sit back and think for a moment. What could we do?
'We could go out and get pizza?' - I send.
'Eat in the Walmart parking lot. ;).' - link
I smile and out my phone down on my dresser, stretching out of my swirly seat, my back cracked a little, and my phone continued to vibrate as I walk around my room. Eventually we made plans to meet up and get food at the local café.
~
'Bonjour.' Link smiled as she showed up at my house with Aimee, and Jackson.Link told us she chose to leave scar at home due to getting food.
'Hey. So, pizza.' I raise an eyebrow. 'Are we going now or later?'
Jackson smiled. 'I know a good place. We could go for lunch.'
~
Jackson took us to a pizza place called 'Deep Dish Pizzeria.''Haven't we been here before?' Link questioned.
'Yep.' Jackson smiled.
'Shame it isn't a Walmart.' I nudge link and giggle.
We all took a seat at the window booths. The chairs were red and velvet, it was a nice place to sit in and sit out.
Western music was playing above us, which was different, for a cafe.
The waiter came and introduced himself and took our orders. He had his white hair tied back and a bandana to keep his hair back.
Aimee eyed me. 'Alistair' She mouthed.
'I doubt it, it couldn't be right? I mean we haven't spoken to him in years.' I whisper and give Aimee the 'are you kidding?' Me eyes.
'i'm not sure. Anyways, let's just enjoy today, and worry about it some other time.' She smiled, a slight sigh leaving her mouth.
We had some eyes on us from the group as we spoke to each other.
I nod and put my attention to my friends rather than focusing on the past again.
'Here's your pizza.' The waiter smiled and put two deep dish pizzas on our table, one pepperoni and one barbecue meat feast.
We had all got a side of chips to share.
'If you need anything else, let me know.' He smiled.
*
'That was good.' Jackson commented as we all walked out of the pizzeria with full stomachs and happy faces.'it was.' Link agreed. 'Now what do we do?'
'I don't know, what to friend groups do?' Jackson questioned.
Silence, some hums of thought.
Link was the first one to speak. 'I know what we can do!' she smiled. 'We could go round to my house and work on school stuff, I could help you and Aimee with prom?' Link questioned.
'Or we can sit at the park for a while.'
'Sure, that'll be a help. But Jill and piper are also on the prom committee.' I suggest, biting my lip. I wouldn't want them to be left out either.
Link smiled. 'No problem, I'll invite them!'
Aimee handed link the details and made her magic work.
Jill and piper walked up to the group, laughing and giggling, 'Good place to meet.' Piper laughed.
'All we need to do is find places and make up a menu for food and find a theme and find out who's actually coming.' I trail off.
Link laughed. 'So basically the whole shebang. That'll be no problem. It'll be much better at my house. If we all want to go?'
~
'You can take of your shoes here.' Link smiled showing us a shoe rack.
We followed link up to her room, and it was beautiful.
I noticed piper and Jill starting at a little photo on the wall and decided to join them.
'That's me and Jackson the day we met.' Link smiled. 'Officially.'
Jill smiled and pushed her glasses up her face. 'You both look so young, now you're so both grown up.'
Link smiled. 'Yeah. I know.'
The photo was of Jackson and link hugging each other. 'I love that photo, I'd be very sad if anything happened to it at all.'
Links room was mainly black, apart from her dressing table which was white.
A large double bed in the middle to the wall, with a leather head frame, gothic pillows like moons, lace that was pinned back from where she slept that could be pulled around the bed.
Chandeliers hung from her lights. There was a desk beside her bed.
'You have such a cool room!' Aimee smiled, in awe of links room. 'Are you rich or something?'
'i'm sure you can't just ask people about their finances Aimee.' Piper spoke.
'Sorry, it's just, wow.' She blushed and glanced at link. 'Sorry.'
Link smiled, petting scar as he walked into the room. 'it's fine, I'm not rich, just wealthy I think.'
'Anyways. So, prom plans.' Link said, sitting on her bed.
'So we have a theme?' She raise her eyebrow.
Aimee, Jill, piper and I glanced at each other, piper laughed slightly.
'See, No. But we were thinking heavily on the New York theme, or gardening. We were hoping to somehow combine the two.' Piper spoke up.
'That's manageable. I could see the two being combined.' Link nodded.
'Maybe join us on the prom committee? You seem confident in what you're doing. Not that we aren't of course but still.' Jill questioned.
'We can add you to the team we have at school. The days are Monday afternoon and Friday. Monday we do ourselves in our free time and Friday we have well-being anyways so.' Aimee smiled.
'Sounds like a plan my dudes.'
