Avery Miller is a shy girl originally from rainy, gloomy Wisconsin. Her mother had married some rich man moving them to the opposite of where they had lived, bright and sunny South Carolina. Back at her old school she didn't have many friends nor participated in any social activities, being an only child and growing up with a single mother was hard on her and she struggled to make friends, keeping to herself most of the time. Her mother Susana hopes this new change will help her branch out and so does Avery.
Landon Larson is quite the opposite; around Bellwood High, he's basically a celebrity. Being the captain of the hockey team guys want to be in his friend group and girls swoon at the sight of him, not that it mattered since he was known for not hooking up with any girls in school. As if the attention couldn't be on him enough, his millionaire CEO father is how he ended up in this rich town surrounded by expectations he can't seem to meet.
