𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐃 - 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐢𝐝 𝐱 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫

Two

You have been off work for two days, but you felt like it was time to return. After JJ informed Hotch that you were sick, he told you to take a week off, which was weird because normally he only gives you three days or less.

Staying at home was strange, it made you feel worse, it made you feel alone and you hate that. You were also really bored and missed the team.

You spent the entire weekend alone because Brad had gone on a business trip to Atlanta, he's suppose to come back on Monday.

You get up and start getting ready for work.

You enter the bau building, a little anxious because of the way you left, you knew they would ask questions, so you prepared yourself.

When the elevator doors open, you see JJ and Emily talking as usual. They're really close, which is one of the first things you noticed about them.

They immediately smile when they see you. "y/n you're back early, I thought you were out for a week?" JJ says this as she extends her arms out to try to hug you.

You hug her back, and when you draw away, you merely shrug, "I felt better," you mumble.

"I would've stayed out all week, I need a break baddd," Emily says, making you laugh.

"Well I missed you guys this place is starting to feel like home," you admit.

Emily smiles and nods, "we missed you too."

"Well, I'll talk to you guys later, I have to go talk to Penelope, she'll flip out if I don't," you reply.

You laugh as they nod in agreement with the last part.

You leave and begin walking to Penelope's office, you don't knock, you just open the door because she always told you that you could just walk in, so you do "hey pen" you greet her.

She stops typing on her keyboard and turns around in her chair, "You're back?!" She exclaims as she jumps up out of her seat to hug you, "I thought you were sick," she says as you hug her back.

"I was, but when I woke up today I felt better," you explained, smiling.

"Thank goodness, I was getting a little Emo because I hadn't seen you here in like forever," she exaggerates.

You laugh, you and Penelope are best friends, you've been close since you start working at the fbi, you just kinda clicked with her, she made you feel safe.

You guys tell each other anything and everything, even if it's weird, because you're just so at ease with one other, but there's one thing you haven't told her, and that's that Brad is abusive. It makes you feel bad that you can't tell her, but it's for the best.

"It was super boring at my house too, even though you kept texting me, I still missed seeing you. Texting you just isn't enough" you admit.

She giggles, "see, you can't even last two days without me"

You laugh, "Well, I have to talk to Hotch and tell him I'm back, I'll talk to you later, okay?" You tell her.

"You better," she chirps before turning around and returning to her computer.

You walk out of her office and take a deep breath in. As you walk over to the bullpen, you feel that there are eyes on you, so you look at the floor nervously until you get to your desk.

You place your work bag on the floor beside your desk and when you look up, you see Spencer is staring at you from his desk, which is right in front of yours. You ignore him and begin heading up to Hotch's office.
