Chapter 2 - The Confession

Omniscient POV

"Well you see, I wanted to tell you that..." Prince Matthew said quietly with a hint of nervousness in his words.

"That?" replied Princess Amelia with the hopes that it isn't something that she should be worried about. She was already making herself ready if he was going to say bad news until...

"I have grown to be fond of you...my heart loves your presence and aches if it sees you with someone else. I longed to tell you how I feel about you yet we had no time to meet before. We both were busy helping our parents run the kingdom as we both are going to rule someday. I found my parents' coronation as an opportunity to finally express my love for you.." Prince Matthew told with all his strength and confidence.

Princess Amelia was shocked by his confession. She didn't expect that he was going to say that. She has mixed feelings of relief and the feeling that someone she liked, at first sight, had loved her for a long time. She wished at that moment that they would formally meet before. She thought that maybe if that happened, they would have been together for quite some time now.

"You don't need to decide immediately, I want to give you time to think about it. For the time being, I hope that it won't be uncomfortable for you later at dinner," he said and kissed her hand.

"I assure you Matthew I don't feel uncomfortable, even the slightest bit," she assured him and agreed to give it some thought. They went back down to join the other royals for dinner.

Even though Amelia knows that her feelings for him are fast but true, she needs to reassure him for the reason of preventing the prince from getting hurt because of her doing. She needed to be certain about her feelings that's why she didn't give a response yet.

Meanwhile, while they were conversing...

Queen Angela's POV

I was in the dining hall already and it seems that my son is nowhere to be found. I am getting quite worried but then Queen Jennifer approached me and said, "How nice to see you again Queen Angela!!" and hugged me. We were friends since we were little, a day doesn't pass by from our childhood without seeing each other. It has been quite a while and not too long ago her husband departed them suddenly, it is good to see her doing well. "Oh Jenni, you know you could call me Angie. We are closer than anyone else here! I longed to see you in forever, how are you holding up?" I asked since you can't base someone's current well-being just by looking at them. "Well, I still haven't fully accepted what happened though I know that I should... It's just hard without him, I can't stop ruling the kingdom until Luke is crowned. I have to continue whatever the situation is... I hope he knows very well that I miss him dearly every day and I love him with all my heart." she said, dear god please let him know how much she treasures him. "I'm always here if you are in need, don't mind that I am already crowned and beginning new duties as Queen. You are still my dear friend and one of my priorities." I replied to comfort her and assure her that I am here for her no matter what as she does the same for me.

"I'm sorry dear, but I'd like to ask if you had seen my eldest? I can't seem to find him here and I'm getting a bit worried." I asked with the hope that maybe she knew my son's current whereabouts. "Oh! My dear, do not worry as Prince Matthew wished to speak to my daughter earlier and headed to the upstairs balcony." She said while smiling like she was hoping for it to happen. Well, we both wished for them to be wedded but I would want them to be happy. I don't want to force them to grow fond of each other.

I was looking at the entrance of the dining hall and saw the two of them, I hope nothing bad happened...
