A New Tattoo-Urbandub
Jung Kook woke up with a headache. He has his eyes opened but hasn't gone out of bed yet. Apart from the headache, he has body pains. He has some plaster on the side of his face and he doesn't have much strength. The Immune feeling from alcohol and drugs has died down that's why he is starting to feel all sorts of pain.
After a few minutes, he tried to get out of his bed. He tried to get into the showers to wash off the hangover.
He was inside, the subdued water running over his body. He was trying to count how many tattoos he had on his body. He thought he had quite a few. The most recent ones were the sleeves tattoo which he added when he was about 17. That was just 3 years ago.
He had that added to cover up the burns he got as punishment from his Dad, Chang Min. He laughed at himself when he realized that it was stupid of him to smoke in their Garden. He wasn't aware that his Father would be home at that time, and it so happened that he was in the Garden sipping on his tea while enjoying nature.
Chang Min has a lot of Anger kept inside of him, and it seems that he takes it on his boys.
The then kids, experience torture every time they misbehave. It wasn't just some regular punishment. Somehow, Chang Min felt some fascination over hurting someone.
He had been blaming his kids for everything that had happened to them. To him in particular. He blames Jung Kook for losing his wife and his Father, and also, for the time when they had a lot of setbacks with their business.
Chang Min never showed interest in Jung Kook. He let their Nana take of him. He never puts him to sleep or feeds him. Anything that a newborn baby is supposed to experience from his Dad, none of that happened to Jung Kook.
When Jung Kook turned 1, his Father wasn't there. Only their helpers celebrated with him on his Birthday. It was a surprise, they felt pity for the kid. Chang Min was out on a Business Trip.
That seemed to be the case, now, 20 years have gone by, and still, No Mr. Son on Jung Kook's birthday.
It was hurtful for him. His son's birthdays always bring back painful memories, that's why he always is out of the country when Jung Kook's birthday is nearing.
After Jung Kook's long moment in the shower. He got to his closet and put on his clothes. He thought of grabbing food, as he felt hungry. It was close to lunch time and he hadn't had any decent meal yet.
As he got downstairs, Ji Min was already having his brunch in their Dining Area. "Kook? Come, join me!" Ji Min said as he looked at his brother, waiting for him to join him at the table.
"No thank you!" Jung Kook said coldly and then got to their Den. The other helper approached Jung Kook and asked him what he needed. " I'll have my food here please!" Jung Kook said to the helper.
Ji Min back at the Dining Table frowned. "He is still so distant". He mumbled to himself.
Somehow, Ji Min blames himself for leaving, for going to the US to study. If he could've stayed then, Jung Kook and him would still have their bond.
But he left, Ji Min couldn't take all the hurt they were experiencing from their father. Even if Chang Min sees him as his favorite, he has no escape with his tortuous hands.
Ji Min escaped one night when he couldn't take it any longer. He withdrew all his money and got to the US by himself. He knew no one. He just trusted his guts and made it to America.
When he got there, he checked in at a hotel. And then, with the powers of online and others, he got himself a part-time job as a Waiter in a Diner.
Ji Min's money is nearing its end. Good thing, he has the salary from his job. He communicated with his high school in Seoul to send him his records. He always dreamt of being an Architect, and not only that, but he wishes to finish this architecture course at Yale University.
Ji Min made it to Yale. He balanced everything. When he got there, he decided to completely cut ties with his family, and move on with his life. But his heart cannot take leaving Jung Kook behind. It took time for Ji Min and his father to at least text or video call. He was mad about him leaving. He relies on Ji Min and thinks he is a potential candidate for taking over the Company when he retires. Sadly, he isn't happy with Ji Min's decision.
While Ji Min himself is busy in the US. Jung Kook struggled alone. He feels like he lost everyone completely, he thought Ji Min with stick to the pact they created when they were together. " We will be together, forever and always!" But Ji Min broke his promise. Jung Kook was left alone, Jung Kook endured all the pain, physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Now that he is back. Jung Kook feels like he is a different person.
Ji Min stood from his seat. He said to himself that he would do everything to get his little brother back, even if it meant he needed to do the extremes.
He followed Jung Kook to the Den and sat opposite his brother. "Didn't you miss me, Kook?" Ji Min asked with his eyes looking in a different direction. Jung Kook didn't answer right away.
He was looking in a different direction and replied, "Why should I?". Ji Min was speechless, the coldness of the response was like a knife that was stabbed straight through his heart.
