Vegas was sitting in the living room waiting for Pete to bring drinks as he said, he was thinking about asking for something stronger, but he did not dare to break his tough facade he had currently in. Even though he was feeling so damn sick from it, he knew that having a gun with him might help Pete's grandma to remember everything the way it was; or at least he hoped so.

Grandma was sitting on the couch in front of him, staring into nothing. She could feel her heart inside her throat, she was so damn afraid of telling the truth to Vegas, but she knew that for his sake it needed to be done.

Vegas was still the young innocent boy in her eyes and there was nothing that could have changed the fact; not even the gun in his hands.

****FLASHBACK

In the orphanage down south they admitted a new boy, really kind but quiet. No one knew how to treat him, only one of the teachers was able to get near him, making sure that he will be still doing something, it does not matter if he was helping to do the laundry or wash the dishes or cut grass outside, he had to overwork himself even though he was still a young boy.

"Vegas, one man will be coming over to have a talk with you." There was this usual frown on the boy's face. "I don't want to talk to him, I want to be here.. With you." Vegas hummed and lowered his head. "Oi my boy.. Don't worry he will just have a quick chat and I will wait here for you." She gave him this encouraging smile before helping him to pick a nice shirt.

The man was Gun Theerapanyakul's right hand. Gun Theerapanyakul was known as a businessman and pretty strict person, so once Chatchada got to know he was interested in little Vegas she tried to stop him. She honestly wanted to adopt Vegas on her own, but she was not allowed to.

It always was money over everything.

They were in a room for a while, the moment Vegas stepped out of it, he was so calm and his face was showing no emotions whatsoever. Chatchada immediately walked to him, "so how did it go?" Vegas shrugged, no word said and he left to his room.

There was no point in following him, she could only hear how the man talked to someone on the phone telling them he found the boy they needed.

She tried to fight it, but money ruled the world and she was just a poor worker that had to take care of her own problems first. The moment the man ended his phone call she did not hesitate and walked towards him. "Can you please leave that boy alone? He deserves better." Without any kind of hesitation the man hit her, causing her a cut on her cheek. "The boy will have everything, so stay out of this." He chuckled, turned around and wanted to leave the orphanage but he halted. "I believe that you have your own problems so make sure that you will deal with them, don't let me take care of them for you, because that is a price that you will never be able to pay."

Chatchada touched the cut on her cheek, seeing a bit of blood on her fingers. "The boy needs love and I know you are not able to give it to him."

She was the one leaving him there, with his eyes wide open.

At the end Vegas was adopted by Gun. Vegas left the orphanage with a smile on his face. The look that Chatchada got from Gun the moment he stepped out of the orphanage with Vegas in front of him will be haunting her in dream for the rest of her life.

****FLASHBACK ENDS

"Why didn't you say it the moment you saw me standing here?" Vegas was shocked after he learned that all the time she kept thinking about him and praying for him. "Why now?" The tears appeared in Vegas' eyes, he let them fall down. "Did you realize you were like a mother to me back then?"
