November, Nine Years & Six Months Since the Release of Antler Queen
With rapid, purposeful strides, Natalie storms through the halls of YJR company, her gait conveying a fierce determination and simmering anger.
As she strides forward, her clenched fists swing forcefully at her sides, matching the rhythm of her steps.
People in the vicinity instinctively stepped aside, their gazes fixated on the oncoming artist. Whispers filled the air, a cacophony of speculation and anticipation, as colleagues and passersby exchange hurried glances.
Without hesitation the door opens, Natalie's face is contorted by a mixture of frustration, anger, and pent-up emotions. Veins pulsed visibly on her temples, evidence of the surging adrenaline coursing through her veins.
She's pissed. She can't stand the fact Charlotte Matthews of all people would diss her music, the music she pours her heart and soul into, the music she creates for herself to heal and grow.
Lottie knows that. There's no way she couldn't have.
"How could you have possibly hid this from me Mr. Matthews? Is it because you're sick of me fighting with your daughter all the time or is your ego blown because she just talked shit about your company's music as well?"
Everyone knows YJR is a reputable company, only the best of the best work here. Not all were musical geniuses like Lottie Matthews, but they were brilliant in their own ways.
"You'll have to excuse me." Mr. Matthews says to his client, in which the client takes the opportunity to hurriedly leave.
"I was expecting you, Scatorccio. Honestly you saw it much later than i expected, a full five days. Impressive." He said ironically and Natalie was in no time for jokes.
"Your daughter is a living nightmare, sir. I hope you fucking know that." Natalie says bitterly.
Mr. Matthews has been working with Natalie since she was a teenager, her cursing has just eventually became too common. He just made sure she wouldn't curse in interviews.
"So, I'm assuming you have a plan right?" He didn't care he insulted her daughter. In fact if Natalie wanted to get some sort of revenge it would do him justice. Another song, album, is just another feather in his cap.
"Oh yeah. I just need a great fucking producer and maybe a month."
Mr. Matthews smiled. He was pleased, and nodded in agreement.
June, Eleven Months Until The Release of Antler Queen
Another one of Mari's shows, another concert, and another day of this tour. Same songs, just different places. Now they were in San Diego. The stadiums were starting to look all the same to Natalie at this point. She looked to her right and Lottie was obviously not enjoying anything.
It's not like the songs weren't good, they were great.
But after being in so much technical rehearsals, Mari concerts, and all the work in between Natalie was starting to feel bored.
She wanted to compose, she wanted to write, and she just wanted to work at that point.
Getting the luxury of being in YJR was one thing, but Natalie felt like she owed them something. That something being some great fucking music.
"Great news!" Misty ran up to Natalie while she was outside, getting out her cigarette to smoke while Lottie was in the bathroom.
"You can finally start producing your own album Natalie! See? I told you I was a good manager." Her manager looked proud of herself, but Misty was mostly excited for Natalie.
