The last time I saw Eve was when she was sent to kill me four years ago, when I was in Paris on the Lord's orders to find someone. It turned out that the person I was assigned to find was a witch hunter, and Eve's father was also a witch hunter, and she saw me choke him to death in their home on his chair.

She was really strong as we fought, I won't lie. She came close to killing me, but my power flung her off of me before she could finish me off. Not for Rio, but for me—I was wondering what she wanted with Rio—I was wondering when she would return. I considered this.

"I come to save the Human Let's pick up where we left off from our previous meeting since I'm here, though."A smug Eve said.

"Bring it on"

She ran at me while swinging her sword, but she missed as I blocked it.I kicked her in the back, sending her to the ground, using my power to make myself appear behind her.She stood up when I heard a disturbance coming from the room, and when I turned, I saw Rio standing there holding his shoulder. As I cried out in pain, Eve twisted the sword and inserted it into my stomach in the single second that I wasn't paying attention. She then slowly pulled the blade out of my body and shoved me to the ground.

Eve laughed and remarked, "You've gotten to be weak, Rose."

With blood streaming from her mouth, Rose uttered the words, "Fuck you."

Rio wasn't sure what to do; he had a chance to get away, but he couldn't help but consider helping Rose.It felt as though his heart had been ripped out of his chest to see her there on the floor, bleeding out and dying. He's had an odd sensation toward her for the past two days, one he can't quite put his finger on, as though he was meant to meet her and that she belonged in his life, but Rose was sent to bring him so he could be killed.

Rio approached her cautiously, bent down, and placed her head in his lap. He hated what was happening; she looked terrible there was blood on the floor and on his clothes. As he spoke, tears began to stream from his eyes.

"I'm sorry, Rose; this is all my fault, and I don't even know why. "You're not a monster, Rose, you're a beautiful person inside, and you just have been through a lot, and I get that no matter what you have done, you don't deserve this."

Rose struggled to look up at him, but when she did, her heart broke seeing him cry, and everything he had just said brought tears to her own eyes. She had only known him for two days, but during those two days, she had grown attached to him, to the point where she considered risking her life by letting him go. Instead, she used her last remaining strength to say,

"You are not to blame. Rio, don't blame yourself; this was expected sooner or later. I regret a lot of things, but I never regretted meeting you since you gave me a feeling of happiness in my finishing days that I had never had before."

The last words Rose spoke before her soul finally left her icy, bloody body were these.Rio sobbed even more since she didn't deserve it.

"You ought to be relieved that she is no longer in your life; you can now move on."Rio was still weeping while still clutching Rose's dead body when Eve left the wrecked house, saying this as she left.

Rio was unable to move on after seeing this tragedy because all he wanted was to exact revenge on everyone who had wronged Rose, starting with her parents.

That concludes part one. How will Rio cope in life following Rose's passing?
