Maria Bianchi
We walked into Charles' mothers house and I suddenly felt really nervous. I grabbed Charles' hand and he turned his head to look at me, he can see I am nervous.
"It's okay. Don't be nervous they love you." He chuckled.
We walked into the living room and Pascale came running up to me.
"Oh Maria! ma douce, douce fille. Tu ne comprends pas à quel point tu m'as manqué. (Oh Maria! my sweet, sweet girl. You don't understand how much I have missed you.)" Pascale brought me into a tight embrace.
"Tu m'as manqué aussi, Pascale. (I've missed you too, Pascale." I pulled away from the hug.
"Mari, c'est toi ? Wow vous avez.. changé." I smile at the nickname, Charles little brother, Arthur called me.
" Yes it's me." I giggled. "Have i changed in a good way or a bad way?" I raised my eyebrows.
"Good. Very good! You're beautiful." Arthur said.
"That's Mon amour you're talking about Arthur." Charles raises his eyebrows. Shit I forgot we are pretending to be together.
"Come come! The food will get cold." Pascale told us.
We all sit down and start to tuck into the food. "Mm this is amazing." I said. Pascale is such a good cook.
"Je vous remercie. C'était le repas préféré de leur papa. (Thank you. It was their dads favourite meal." Pascale's smile is short and sad. I looked over at Charles who has his head down.
"Well I can see why." I laughed, trying to make it into a happy topic of conversation.
"So how did you and Charles meet up again?" Arthur turned his head towards me and Charles.
"Oh-" Charles turned his attention to me.
"I came back to Monaco and bumped into Charles, we kind of forgot about not seeing each other for a long time and just fell in love." Charles gave my hand a squeeze happy I stuck to the story he told me to say.
"Cute." Arthur furrowed his eyebrows.
"You know, I always knew Charles liked you when you two were kids." Pascale laughed taking a sip of her wine. "Well I knew from the start because Charles would never shut up about you." I looked over at Charles seeing that he was turning red.
"True. It was always Maria this, Maria that." Arthur said obviously trying to embarrass Charles. "But Charles was probably scared Jules would get mad at him liking his sister."
The table went quiet. I feel like Jules' name hasn't been brought into a nice conversation since he died. I tried to swallow the lump that had formed in my throat but I couldn't.
"Oh- sorry I didnt-" I cut Arthur off.
"It's fine. I just haven't heard his name like that for a while."
"Oh you poor thing." Pascale got up from her seat hugging me.
We moved on from that situation and head to the living room for some cake and coffee.
"So how's the designing and social media stuff going Maria?" Pascale asked.
"Great actually, I'm not working for anyone at the moment though." I awkwardly laughed.
"Oh that's good." Charles nodded.
"How is me not working for anyone good?" I scoffed.
"Because I spoke to Ferrari's designing team and showed them some of your work and they want to offer you a job." He shrugged like he hadn't said something huge, something that could be life changing.
