Indifferent (BWWM)

The ambulance arrived at the hospital and they rushed Quinn to the nearest facility.

"Sir, we're going to have to ask you to wait out here for the time being, or atleast until we can grasp what's wrong with your wife."

"She's my wife, I'm going in there." I pushed through him.

"Sir, if you don't go sit, I'm going to have to escort you out."

I slowly made my way to a chair and everything went numb.

It wasn't long before the same man
who threatened to make me leave approached me once again and I stood to accomodate the news.

"I- I'm sorry." He lifted the hand to my shoulder. "She didn't make it."

I broke down to my knees and just sobbed while he continued to speak.

"Quinn had a fatal miscarriage that released multiple toxins into her body. We tried our hardest to cleanse her of the toxins but these cases are very rare and the results are not very accurate. Come and see her?"

I clumsily made my way to the room where my wife lay lifeless, they chords and tubes lit up her body.

I spread out over her chest to weep, rocking her back and forth like I did at the beach, not even an hour ago, when my wife was still alive.

I silently prayed over Quinn,

Before she took a breath.
