What a Weird Place

I took my time walking towards the main room where I could hear Maleficent scheming about stealing a wand. I took a deep breath, counting to ten before putting a smile on my face and stepping into the light of the main room.

Everyone basically had their own corner, Mal and her mom were up by her throne having their staring match with their green eyes. While Jay and Jafar were huddled together talking about the items Jay had managed to steal for his father's shop. Evie and The Evil Queen were in the middle of the room discussing ways to make themselves look better. While Cruella was having Carlos help her to look her best as well.

The last corner belonged to my father but he rarely was a part of these meetings preferring to rest in his chair at home. But with an apparent trip to Auradon maybe he would show up this time at least to say goodbye to his eldest and only daughter.

Yeah right.

I got seated in my usual spot beside my fathers' chair just as Maleficent won the staring contest. She started making her rounds to convince the other villainous parents that her plan would work and that it was a great opportunity for them to escape. She brought up the others' natural enemies. The Evil Queen pulling out her hair at the mention of Snow, Jay having to hold his father back, Cruella talking to her fake shoulder dog, and Maleficent will be able to get revenge on Sleeping Beauty.

That was the end of the argument the villains being themselves are giving us up to get a chance at their dreams. The Evil Queen gave Evie her magic mirror,  Maleficent gave Mal her spellbook, their prized possessions.

As the others gathered their things, My father made his appearance silently demanding I go to him, now.

I got up and followed him to the front door, he looked down upon me while crossing his arms. "Listen to me woman, you will make Prince Ben fall for you, it'll be hard with your looks and lack of home-making skills. But if you don't figure it out," he paused lowering his head to meet my gaze dead on, "I'll watch the sharks rip you apart."

I nodded and lowered my eyes to the floor as he straighten his back he sighed and took a knife out of his back pocket and handed it over to me, "Use my knife to end him, make Belle regret the day she chose that Beast over me."

I figured it was all just a play to get back at Belle for choosing Adam over Father, but I can't blame her. In fact, I'm glad she managed to get out of his grasp and get her happy ever after, but those words shall never cross my lips.

The others had finished getting their things seeing my father's back as he walked out, the silence of the hall was deafening. I shook it off and smiled at them letting them know everything was fine and we would get the wand.

As we walked outside with their parents following close behind us we saw a limo parked outside waiting to take us over to Auradon. Jay saw an opportunity to steal whatever was at the front of the car and took it before getting into the car without saying a word as Evie gladly got in the limo. The driver opened the trunk with great timing as Carlos ran out of the 'castle' to throw his stuff in the trunk and duck in the car narrowly escaping his mother's clutches. Mal the most normal one so far handed a bag to the driver and after looking back at her mom, who vaguely threatened her (unsurprising) got in the car.

As I was the last one in the car the driver stood by the door ready to shut it after me, I smiled in his direction and thanked him before getting in and choosing my seat in the back opposite Mal and Evie.

There was a smorgasbord of candies across from the boys, needless to say fighting over candy ensued, while Evie tried to apply some makeup to Mal's face before being told that Mal plotting. She accepted the defeat and went back to eating some rock candy thing. Mal smiled pointing at Carlos who had chocolate surrounding his mouth after less than a minute in the car, I giggled and nodded.

This is my favorite time when we all hang out beyond the sight of our parents and their expectations of us all. I enjoyed some candy that the boys were kind enough to share with me when there was a clinking noise that seemed to lower a board between us and the driver.

"Look!" we all turned with trained precision to see the car driving towards the broken bridge, cue the mass panic and screaming as we all realized we were going to die. We all huddled together, squeezing with all our strength and screaming our heads off. What a rude way to kill someone, and the sacrifice of their driver, and I thought we were the cruel ones.

But something happens in the mass panic, there's no sudden dive, no crashing of the car on the rocks. We all slowly came to the conclusion that we weren't in immediate danger of death, and raised our heads to see that the car was driving on a golden extension of the bridge.

Mal, realizing she had hit a button on the remote, knocked it twice against the seat to get our driver's attention, "Hey. Did this little button just open the magic barrier?"

"No, this one opens the magic barrier," the man said holding his own button, speaking as if this were a normal everyday occurrence, "that one opens my garage. And this button," he said as he raised his hand to a button on the ceiling to close the barrier between us and him.

"Okay." Mal let out a little laugh, "Nasty. I like that guy." We all shared small smiles at our almost death. Carlos continued to munch on candy, while Jay grabbed everything he could reach to steal it from the car. Evie and Mal fought more as she tried her hardest to Mal to use some blush in order to add some color to her face.

I reached my hand up to knock on the barrier, and to my surprise it lowered, the man said nothing but waited for me to speak, "Thank you." I apparently caught the man off guard if his expression was anything to go off of. He seemed to stutter a moment before saying your welcome and the barrier was raised again for privacy.

Too bad because we were just arriving at Auradon, you could hear the music playing the second you were on the mainland, is it always that loud? It was a short drive up to the school through dense forest until it cleared showing people dancing and waving flags at us in school pride.

What kind of place is this?
