Chapter 2 - The Newcomers

Blake woke up, but kept her eyes shut. Trying to recall what had happened before passing out, she felt a presence to her left. Blake silently reached for where one of her knives usually were, to find it gone. She looked at the person to find a short, but taller than her, male with raven black hair staring at her stoically and intently. The one she and Jaden helped fight the titans the day prior. 

"Not bad, brat. Though, we took your weapons away and you're still injured, rest. ", Levi spoke firmly with boredom. Blake then checked her eye patch and mask to mask sure they were still on. "Don't worry, your boyfriend wouldn't let us touch your bandages on your face no matter how beat up he was.", Levi explained, noticing Blake check the bandages. 

"Where is he?", Blake asked calmly ignoring Levi and got straight to her main worry. Sitting up, she realized her right leg was chained to the infirmary bed post. "Tch! You were nearly on the brink of death, yet you worry about him. Focus on your recovery, you can't protect him if you're unwell or dead, brat.", Levi spoke annoyed. 

"Is he still alive?", Blake asked lying back down on the bed. "For now I suppose, he is being questioned by Erwin, the commander of the Survey Corps at this moment. If he keeps being a pest, I won't promise anything.", Levi stated flatly with annoyance. 

A minute of silence went by for the white haired and the raven-haired soldiers as they were waiting for Erwin to get back until Hange came running in, yelling. "Levi, I-..Oh! She's awake!", yelled the crazed scientist. "Tch, you're too loud shitty glasses.", Levi cursed annoyed as he leaned back in his chair beside Blake's bed. Hange just smiled and skipped over to Blake.

"Hiya! My name's, Hange Zoe! If I recall correctly, your name's Blake! Ahhh! I have so many questions! How in the walls were you walking about this morning as if you weren't just stabbed? Why were you two outside the walls? What did you train in and where from? How'd you kill all those titans, you're faster than Levi! Are you related to him?!", Hange yelled all in a single breath with steam coming out of her nose, cheeks flushed deep red and her eyes with a crazy glint. 

"Hange, that's enough. Levi, you're both dismissed. I have some matters to discuss with miss Evans here.", Erwin spoke in the doorway to the infirmary with a serious and firm authority. At that, Levi stood and walked towards the exit, pulling the mad scientist by the back of her collar, dragging her with him out the door. 

"Now, miss Evans. Your comrade, Jaden, briefly spoke to me. He didn't tell me much about either of you, except your age and names. Care to elaborate on his answers or even answer any one of Hange's questions?", the commander pressed Blake with intimidation.   

Blake sat there quietly. She knew they were to never tell anyone where they came from, no matter the situation, life and death or not. Erwin sighed quietly with agitation at her stubborn silence. 

"Look, all I ask is that you and your comrade become a cadet in the Survey Corps. I truly believe we have a higher chance of taking back humanity if you join. Though, if you choose to refuse or kill us and escape, you both will be caught and given to the MP's. I can assure you; the MPs are the last people you want to care after you.", the tall blonde explained clearly as he studied Blake and her reactions. 

'Usually, Levi will show annoyance or anger as the slightest bit of emotion to his reactions, but this girl here...No this woman, shows nothing. What is going through her head?', the commander thought to himself, waiting for her reaction and/or response. 

"I understand, we will join. But please understand, I am not going to tell you about myself nor about Jaden, so I ask politely that you don't pry.", Blake explained to the commander, knowing that he'll most likely be smart enough to find out where they came from if he continues to pry further.
