Two weeks have gone by, and it consisted of Jaden visiting Blake every chance of free time he had. Levi took turns with Erwin or Hange watching her, never leaving her alone for one second. Hange was currently discharging Blake from bed rest while Levi and Erwin stood nearby in the infirmary.
"Okay! All done!", Hange says in excitement as she finishes Blake's physical evaluation. "You heal so fast I could've mistaken you for a titan!", Hange laughs trying to joke around. The room was dead silent after her comment. "Blake head to the training yard, Levi will be there soon.", Commander Erwin spoke breaking the silence. Blake saluted the Commander and began her walk to the training yard she saw looking out the window every day whilst being on bed rest.
Once she was gone the three looked at each other. "Have you found anything Hange?", Erwin asked in a serious tone. "Unfortunately, no. It seems to be from another language. I need more books. I haven't seen anything like this before.", Hange replied in a serious tone as she began to try to think of anything it could possibly mean.
'It's too specific to be anything just random.' Hange figured from it being a symbol from another language. "I'm hoping it isn't from what I think it is.", Commander Erwin spoke up. "And what are you hoping it's not from, Erwin?", Levi asked bluntly, wanting to know if this was what Erwin kept to himself the day of the two cadets' arrivals.
Erwin sighed. "Before I became a soldier, my father researched an organization called, Elimination for Justice. They kidnapped little kids from the underground and took in young orphans to train them and form them into their soldiers by brainwashing them and torturing them. Their methods were not human, most kids died through the training the leaders put them through. They sent the kids who survived to kill people in government or citizens who threatened to spill secrets of their organization, people who threatened to spill secrets of the walls, who found out who they were, whoever got in their way, etc. They were found out, exposed and executed long ago.", Erwin thought back to hearing his father talk about it from his research.
"Is it a possibility that one of the leaders managed to escape?", Hange asked. "No, but it's possible that someone started it back up again. Someone who thought they were doing the right thing by continuing what was done to them, to others. As disgusting as it is. I only say that, because if Blake has a symbol burned onto her skin and the information you told me is to be true, it's a likely possibility. The kids from the past organization all had numbers burned into their left shoulders.", Erwin looked to Hange, silently asking if she saw any numbers burned onto Blake's skin.
"I didn't look at her shoulders, but her body was at least twenty five percent scar tissue, just from her abdomen and chest. Evert time I went to look further, she almost woke up, so I stopped trying.", Hange explained. Levi was dead silent, all of this pissed him off. 'Why didn't she say anything? Doesn't she want out of there? Doesn't she want Jaden and the other kids out of there?', Levi asked himself ready to practically murder everyone in sight.
Blake listened in, from the other side of the door. She heard a long pause of silence and then some shuffling and decided that was her que to go to the training yard before she got caught. She had heard all of what they knew and that was enough. 'I need to speak with Jaden later. Dammit. I knew something was going on.', she thought to herself as she ran to the training yard.
"Let me know if you find out, I'm going to train the new brat.", Levi stated bitterly as he slammed the door when he walked out. Erwin sighed. "What's wrong with him?", Hange asked the Commander. "He is probably upset that this all happened where he used to live. The fact that he tried to help many people down there, not knowing this was going on. That and probably the fact that he doesn't understand why Blake and Jaden are trying to go back, if that is the place that they're stuck in.", Erwin spoke aloud.
